Does anyone know how many get picked, or when they get picked? Also, good luck to all applicants. Happyjoe5 21:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't matter. We just need enough to be able to run on a day-to-day basis with everything under control. Since Zelda wiki runs fine then there is no need. And since there's only about 7 people, each doing their share then all should be considered leaders of this wiki.--Herbsewell 21:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
I know it's not important, it would just be nice to know. If no-one has any idea it can wait. Happyjoe5 19:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Well really. Are there vandals out there making pages or uploading images that need to be deleted? Are users having disputes over pages that need to be protected? Are there vandalisms that need to be reverted within seconds? Do IP address, or users need to be blocked? Does text of the interface need to be edited?
If none of these are needed to run this wiki, than the only reason we would have administrators is for them to be recognized as leaders of this community.--Herbsewell 21:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I know all that, it was an innocent question. Happyjoe5 21:51, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
I was just waiting a couple of weeks to make sure there were no objections. Happily there weren't, so there are four new admins today. Angelatalk 22:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
How long does it take from when someone is nominated until they are made an administrator (or rejected)? Fused Shadow 15:29, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
It shouldn't take that long; I think people have forgotten about this page. It should usually take about a week or a few days if the wiki has a small amount of contributors, maybe two or three weeks if it's a popular wiki, like Wookieepedia.--Richard 16:12, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Well I'm fine with it. But why are we all the villains from Zelda?
Oath to Order– The perceived badassery of any given action will increase tenfold if the action is performed while on fire. TALK– 0_o
The same reason why all the active admins at the FFWiki are villains (or anti-heroes) and not heroes (One: Final fantasy heroes all suck personality wise. Two: FF heroes have bad art designs) Three: They suck.) In this instance, Zelda lacks a hero that varies in design (cool but repetitive). I used villains 'cause they all have different designs.
Oh, lovely admin boys? I was just wondering -- if you decide to assign images to us rollback users, could I please have Ganon's puppet Zelda? There are so few female villains to begin with, and I really like the way she looks there.

If/when I become admin, can I have Phantom Ganon? It's pretty much the only villain who's gender hasn't been disclosed, and you know me. Undisclosed info person. Plus it's one of the only villains left.

How many votes are needed for one to become admin anyway? Oh yeah, and maybe we should add some limitations, like edit count, length of membership, all that stuff? It's not like anyone should become a rollback user/admin right? What if some guy who was a vandal created an account, nominated himself, than had his friends create 10 accounts and vote for him? Well, anyway, I guess it's not my place to speak of this. I want my first question answered though.
I have a question about some of the existing admin. I have never seen Altar, Naftaliash827, or Thai420, and I'm not sure when I last saw ShutUpNavi. (Or if, indeed, I ever have -- I may have just seen something he/she did.) Are they still members of the Zeldapedia?
We should clear this up and make all of our greatest members (Murch, LadyNorbert, Mr Kmil, XXXXX, maybe me, sorry if I left anybody out.) people who actually DO stuff here administrators, that's my opinion.
Well, what can we do? I already tried notifying Richard about this whole rollback business but still haven't received a reply.

Yes, we need to do something about this. We're getting nowhere fast with the voting. Oath should go for bureaucrat so he can get admins back on the ground. But if the gets to be bureaucrat than he has to get made one by Richard who isn't answering our questions, leaving a painful hole in the system. Half of the admins on the board have pretty much left the wiki, and we need more active admins! And has anyone seen Fused Shadow lately? He was even promoted a few months ago. I did a user contributions check and this is what I found: Fused Shadow's last edit was April 7. ShutUpNavi's was March 25. Naftaliash827's was January 14. Happyjoe5's was way back December 19 in 2007. Altar stopped editing here on the 6th of March. Thai went kaput over half a year ago; November 25! The way I see it, it's not three active, three semi-active. It's two active, one semi-active! And Richard's here because he's from gaming wikia. We need more admins. We need less inactive admins. Someone help us.
Well, it appears that there is a lot of agreement about this. It's a problem that needs to be fixed very fast. It's not ouf of self-interest, but for the good of the Zeldapedia. We're not trying to bump you other guys off, but adminship is a privilege, not a right. It's your responsibility to do what's best for the Zeldapedia - and doing nothing at all sure is not the best thing. We need to establish a dialogue with all the other admins and work this thing out.

I'll give all admins b'crat rights right now; sorry guys, meant to do that a few days ago.--Richard 20:41, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Allright, now all admins have b'crat rights, and XXXXX, AuronKaizer, and Hero of Time 87 are now b'crats. The main problem here is that this wiki isn't that active and I've got a bad memory lol so I keep forgetting about stuff. Generally, if most of the votes are supportive after a few days, they should be given admin rights or b'crat rights.--Richard 20:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for taking care of this, Richard. But could I ask what the difference is between an admin and a bureaucrat? I'm not sure I quite understand. I have rollback rights (and thank you for the nice comment you made about me on the log about that, btw), so does that make me a bureaucrat? Or is a bureaucrat higher than a rollback user? I'm sorry if I'm being dense, I've been on painkillers the last several days for a back injury, so it might be affecting my comprehension a little.
Midna, talk slowly. How am I supposed to understand "Kin Wob Eber Beah!"?
B-crats can make other users admins.
I've also just given LadyNorbert admin rights too. So in total, there are now 15 admins!! Great job guys! Don't forget to look at the administrators' how-to guide as well!--Richard 21:24, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I walk away from this website for fivve minutes to look at something on eBay, and I come back to find that you made me an admin while my back was turned! Sneaky!
Seriously, thank you for this. And thanks to my fellow Zeldapedians -- I'm particularly looking at you, AK -- who wanted me to have this job. I haven't even been on this website for two full months, I've never asked for rollback rights or sysop privs...but I must be doing something right if you want me to have them. Thank you very much.
Now if we'd just get a few more active female users around here, I'd be happy as a clam! ;)

I agree with the people who say many of these admins aren't active.

Okay, so. We've achieved a great matter today. However, now that the initial shock and disbelief has died down. We need some rules for requesting adminship. Feel free to suggest your own rules as for this case, and we'll vote on the best idea? Right? Right. Mine are like this.
To request for adminship/rollback rights, you must be a regularly active user.
You must have made at least 200 edits. That does not include edits to your userpage or personal pages.
You must be patient and not nag. This may reflect poorly on you.
6 support votes are required. Every oppose vote will subtract 1 from your support votes.
If somebody tells you to wait or comment on your request, please make sure to respect the users' decision.
Okay, so it's a mess. It's the best thing I've got right now. It's got too many holes to count, but meh. What about you other guys? Any good suggestions for rules?

Why does this page have smaller tabs and a smaller sidebar? It seems fine on other pages, so is it my computer?
It doesn't "just happen". That mess of an Admin Chart is what's causing the problem. Edit the page and try deleting the entire Admin Picture thingey, the format returns to normal when you press "Show Preview". I'm now trying to find just what about that box makes Wikia lose its mind. Maybe you guys should consider standardizing the pictures on it.
Found the problem. Mr. Murchadah's box was the problem. Somebody forgot to write in the "</big> and </div>" after the name. One missing slash and the entire page is an embarrassment. You'd think that a wiki with a population of Admins equal to that of a small Midwestern town, one of them would put in the effort to fix problems like this.

We have fifteen admins total (active or no). That's not the problem. That's good. The problem is that all of them are b-crats. Isn't that overkill? The most we need are maybe three. Thoughts?

Yeah, I thought so too. Now it's really not special to be an admin or a b-crat. I think some of the users (ESPECIALLY those who haven't edited in a year!!) should be at least demoted to admin again.
That's alot of Admins -Azul 04:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
OtO, I can go on about how much bull crap you say all the time, but I don't wanna risk my adminship. YOu make it seem like 16 (now that I am) admins is a hell too much mostly, but now you're saying its good. Maybe we should get rid of the ones we haven't heard of or seen in awhile. We might be able to email them via Userpage, and ask if they still want to be an admin, if not, we get wikia staff to remove them. how about that?
PS - Azul, it really isn't. There is a wiki that has 'round 35 of em. And they have about 2,500 articles, too.
We can relieve Naftaliflash of adminship, I emailed her, and she said she did not need to burden of admin controls, because she is inactive due to work. Please relieve her of it.
With all the activity for adminship, should we make a seperate page specifically for requests, such as Zeldapedia:Requests for adminship?--Richard 17:35, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
I think that would be a wonderful idea Richard. That way if we have to look up how to do something from the admin page it won't be as confusing trying to pick our stuff apart from the chatting on the requests.

I was thinking that while this does look nice, maybe this should be updated a little bit. You know by adding our b'crat policy, and removing some of the more repetive information. -- C2 / CC 04:17, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

So, with one less 'crat, what do we do? Do we even need a complete 'crat sixpack? Consider the minimal amount of tasks requiring bureaucracy rights around here; it can easily be handled with only two active and two-semi-actives, in my estimation. --AuronKaizer! 22:10, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
What can 'crats do that admins can't? All I see is that they can make people admins/'crats. Seems to me we have more than enough 'crat activity to handle that at the moment. I don't like saying 'crat so much, I feel like I'm swearing or something.--FierceDeku 02:10, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Can't do much that admins can't. In my opinion, it seems like it can be dropped for a bit, like the number. Till everybody's actually active again. Maybe four or three. But considering the fact that it took wikia a while to remove Kmil's B'crat status, and that he still has it. That'll just be all, left in the dust since they're a tad (major) bit unreliable. --BassJapas 02:25, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

I think it's a "be active for one week after coming back" thing and a "two months inactive" stance. Also, you should probably be added to the rollback coloured names list. --Jäzzi(Talk) 19:33, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
Well this forum to just put it out there. But this is about the rollback list. We need to remove DekuStickMaster and TheNewSheik as they've been inactive. And, of course, add in Green Rupee.
