Wizzar

-I have a copy of this on my talk page- No, you have got it all wrong! I'm not saying that they mistranslated the name in TLoZ, I'm stating that Wizzrobes & Wizzars are completely different enemies, with completely different Japanese names, and their names are the same in the English version of TAoL, probably due to the translators noticing the similaities between these enemies. I am very concerned that you are not reading my messages right. P.S. I meant in the cases Dany was mentioning (TWW & MM) Wizzrobes were called Wizzrobes [Uizurobu in Japan], in both English and Japanese. In the case I was mentioning (TAoL) Wizzrobes didn't appear in TAoL, instead an enemy called the Wizzar (Uizaru) that looked very different, but behaved similar, and had a different weakness, was there instead. When TAoL was brought to America, the localization team noticed the similarities between Wizzrobes & Wizzars, and called Wizzars "Wizzrobes". Tharthan 00:33, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Patrol

Hey. I know that you are a tad busy at the moment and not completely focused on ZW, but how would you like to be promoted to help with patrol as you can? The staff believe that you have shown the dedication and skills for the position, and we are in need of some help in overcoming the current patrol backlog. You interested? Also, archive this page now. :P User:Melchizedek/sig 06:29, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

I'd love to help out, Mel. Thanks for considering me! Ah, and I've been slacking on archiving this page. It is time, I guess. =) User:Cipriano 119/sig 05:21, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Promotion done. Give me a buzz if you need any help. User:Melchizedek/sig 05:34, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Congrats, dude :)User:Mandi/sig 11:50, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones, okay?Justin(Talk) 06:02, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Really? I had NO IDEA that it strained the server so much. You know what? I'm going to see how much your little server can take, and thus will make 485098242 more edits to one page, without hitting Show Preview! Take that, Neo. =) User:Cipriano 119/sig 06:04, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

RE: Minor Edits

Yeah sorry about that one, but one out of a hundred or so isn't that bad. And I am not using a script, this is all my work. ShadowBroker44 21:24, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Characters in LA

Cip, I notice that on the 7 March you made an edit to Characters in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening which involved reverting a whole heap of changes (mostly addition of sprite images), and you marked this change as minor. Was this deliberate, or accidental? User:Petenu/sig 19:46, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Oh jeez, that had to be completely accidental! I have no idea why I was even there... maybe a patrol thing? But that was definitely not what I meant to do... Sorry!User:Cipriano 119/sig 21:22, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Ok, Pete, I know exactly what happened. I must have been patrolling one of Jeangabin's edits, which was an older one, without realizing there were more recent edits to the page, and I must have seen an issue with something, thus edited the page as it looked when Jeangabin got to it, not the most current revision . Since the newer revisions had some extra sprites added, my edit of an older revision without those sprites took the page back to the way it looked when Jeangabin saw it. Does that make sense? I hope that clears things up! :( User:Cipriano 119/sig 21:26, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the appreciation. Regards - S.B.44 [T] 00:38, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Manual of Style

Does ZW have a formal Manual of Style? Because a lot of the pages I have seen are very convoluted and need reforming, which would be easier with a MoS. Regards - S.B.44 [T] 16:04, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

We are currently working under an unwritten manual of style as we are a currently shifting wiki in terms of article content, style, and appearance. While we don't have such at the moment, there are examples here on the wiki of what we consider superior article formats (any of these articles are also "featured"). For example, for enemy pages, look here; for places, look here; and for items, look here. You do have an idea, and I agree - I'll present it to the staff! User:Cipriano 119/sig 18:32, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
We do have a Quality Standards page - though not exactly a formal Manual of Style, it is at least a step in the right direction. User:Petenu/sig 19:02, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes, however, I've proposed to the staff a permanent organization in respect to the static subheadings such as Trivia, Gallery, See Also, References, and bottom article Templates - all of which should be in the same order regardless of article. But yea, if what you're looking for isn't in the Quality Standards, perhaps this movement will help with the article convolution. User:Cipriano 119/sig 19:24, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Cool, and if you need a template of sorts Halopedia just put up their own (here). It has definitely helped improve article quality. Regards - S.B.44 [T] 22:08, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
In these months, I was reorganizing the dungeons' and games' articles so that they can have in common the same sections. So I think it's matter of time until this problem is solved. (update: Oh, I forgot to sign.--K2L 04:00, 24 April 2010 (UTC) ).
I've noticed! And it looks great. Editors like User:Jeangabin have been helping out too, but mostly with minor fixes and smaller scale changes as well. And with me finishing up the reorganization of the popular enemy pages, this wiki should have a clear cut, yet unspoken manual of style worthy of your original idea soon enough! Mission almost accompllished. =)User:Cipriano 119/sig 04:33, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Howdy

How's it goin'? It's been a while.

Just wanted to let you know I've (finally) replied to the discussion the the cannon page. See you around.Pinecove 01:59, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Can I implement it? - S.B.44 [T] 21:36, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Birthday

Holy crap, I'm older than you by a few days! I turned 19 on the 18th. Happy belated birthday, dude! User:Triforce of the Gods/sig 18:01, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Skipped Marker

You skipped on making File:DesertTemple3.png... -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 04:00, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I know... Turns out I do have a DesertTemple3 file, but I didn't like how it came out. AND I didn't realize to change the numbering to reflect that. I hope you can forgive me! PLEASE! ;) User:Cipriano 119/sig 04:20, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Minor question

Hi, I would like to know how one knows when an article is created. It's that I discovered one new by accident the other day, so I want to see if I can contribute on expanding a new page. Godspeed =) --K2L 20:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

When it comes to new, new articles, I would wait a little bit in case the original editor wishes to add more info, format and such, before jumping in with more wiki-savvy edits, as I know you are capable of, just so that they have a chance to contribute in their own way, unhindered. Was this article freshly created, as in the past two weeks or so? If so, the original editor may be still researching info to place on it. If not, do your dark deeds as you wish, K2L. But really, you can do whatever you want with it, that's just what I'd do. =) User:Cipriano 119/sig 20:32, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I see. But I still don't understand something. Sometimes (like, ...mmmmm, 20 minutes ago), there are users other than the article's first editor who already know about its existence. Notice that recently-created articles don't link yet to any known article, not to mention that they initially aren't part of any user's watchlist, so there must be a way to know when a new page pops up. That's what I would like to know (so that I can see if I can make some contribution to anything that is born).--K2L 23:28, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Are you familiar with the Recent Changes page here at ZW.org? Not only does it show new pages (denoted by a large white N before the name of the article) but it also shows what everyone else on the wiki at the time has been doing. Check it out and use it frequently, if you haven't already. Also there is a tab on the wiki that takes you directly to newly created pages, here, where you can delve and contribute to your heart's content! Hope that helps! Writing a WikiExclusive article

I'm interested in doing it and I figured you be the perfect person to ask for pointers; what are the requirements of such an article? Does it need to be reviewed before it can go to post? What do I need to know? Thanks! =D Embyr 75  --Talk-- 17:42, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Here's something I posted to my sandbox about WikiExclusives awhile ago:

The WikiExclusive and Rules

The WikiExclusive is quite possibly the closest thing to creative writing here on Zelda Wiki.org, a place where referencing every comment is placed on the same level as accurate content.

With The WikiExclusive, one can:

  • Make their opinion public concerning a Zelda-related topic through an informative article format
  • Express any theory relative to Zelda which has reasonable support (including timeline theories)
  • Use the article to spur discussion on a little-known topic, and bolster support for a personal theory
  • Have your previously-sheltered idea seen and read by the thousands of viewers Zelda Wiki.org receives everyday
  • Build friendships and carry a correspondence with the staff
  • Contribute a uniquely special view on the Zelda series to the Zelda community and Zelda Wiki.org

A Basic How-To and The Rules

Take a Zelda topic, a Zelda theory, a Zelda character, and just write about them! How do they effect the series? How does an idea impact other game or characters? How well does an idea connect between games/topics? Those are just some ideas; it's really open to interpretation, and the actual structure of the article is entirely up to you, the writer!

Some rules:

The article cannot have any profanity. That's a general rule on this site. It must be long enough to constitute an article. Essay length (the typical 5 paragraphs) is often a good length. If you are unsure of your length, check out the other WikiExclusives. And the bottom-line: it must be deeply rooted in a Zelda theme. We are a Zelda site, and shall publish only Zelda-related material."

So that's about it: the rules are pretty lax. It does have to undergo a simple review process by the admins here to access adherence to the rules, but considering your work ethic, you should be perfect for it! User:Cipriano 119/sig 18:55, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Great; thank you!! =) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 19:05, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
SO... theoretically... if I were finished with said article... to whom would I submit it for review? Tankya! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 03:01, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Theoretically... you could send it to me at my email: cipriano_119[at]yahoo[dot]com and I can make sure it gets to the staff review boards. Also, you could also send it to our admin buddy Dany36, through a ZW email, and it will get to the same place... theoretically. ;) User:Cipriano 119/sig 03:05, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thank you for that! May ZZ know what he did wrong?

Also he seemed to made an error on the Triforce page(OoT section) when trying to make citation #47 quote citation 23 v_v.

Yep! I answered you back on your talk page. Anser me back there, if you want! User:Cipriano 119/sig 06:53, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
On the Triforce page you undid what ZZ did on the ToW section(saying something about "given the events in The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess", but from all of his memory ZZ can't seemed to recall a time when Zelda manipulate reality. Maybe you are referring to when Zelda gave Minda everything? Wait a minute... ZZ thinks you mean the time she called upon the Light Spirits? ZZ always thought that that was all the work of the Light Spirits.
As for the ability to communicate telepathically, There is only two games that comes to mind for that, and that is ALttP and FSA. Can you please explain that to ZZ?
