Yamori is a recurring character from the Tingle series.[citation needed]

Appearances[]

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland[]

Yamori is a secretive ninja that appears in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. He is willing to offer his services if Tingle is able to find him in Sunshine Seashore, Cape Treasure, Lon Lon Meadow, and Deku Forest. Once he is found for the last time, he tells Tingle that if he finds him again, he will offer him a bodyguard contract.

Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love[]

Yamori also makes an appearance in Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love. On Page 4, he can be found hiding in a pond, breathing from a small tube. If Tingle places a frog in the tube, Yamori will come up and speak to him. Afterwords, he can place a worm in the tube, which will make him jump out of the water, and then depart. After Yamori leaves, he will disguise himself as one of the field girls working for Monpe on Page 8. He will reveal himself when hit with the Slingshot.

Yamori appears twice more on Page 12. The first time he will be hiding as he did in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland on a door at the inn. The second time, he will be attached to the back of one of Emerald Cities guards, and can only be found when a dog barks at him. He runs off, and disguises himself as a woman until hit with the Slingshot. He will then leap into the air, and attach himself to a kite. Tingle can shoot him with the Slingshot once again, causing him to fall into the castle's courtyard. When pulled out by Lion, he will give Tingle a game cartridge before throwing a smoke bomb and running off.

Nomenclature[]

"Yamori" is the Japanese word for "gecko", a type of lizard that is well known for its specialized toe pads that enable it to climb smooth and vertical surfaces. This name likely refers to Yamori's attempts to master kakuremino techniques, for which he stands flush against a wall with a blanket in front of him to hide from view.
