Why Black?

the bottle is not actually black. it only looks like it due to the black background. for example, upon obtainment, the only parts visible are the white outline, and the white inside to represent a reflection/shine. all that is there is the white. the inside black is in fact there because the inside of the bottle is blank. i would upload a new version, but i'm not allowed to (as my dad says). so... anyone who can, please update it to MUCH closer to the in-game sprite. Well as shown in this video when Link obtains a new bottle, part of the bottle is black, but not all of it. - Midoro (T C) 17:50, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
i didn't see any black... but if i just missed it then it was used for shading, but in this picture the entire bottle is black, except the outlines and the shine, which are white, but do you think you could put in a more accurate picture? TrueZelda (Talk) 22:41, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
It'd be preferable that the overworld sprite of the bottle be uploaded separately. Since this is actually a rip from the inventory screen. Although similar, the sprites are not the same. - Midoro (T C) 23:52, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
To reiterate The Goron Moron's last post, the inventory sprite (seen here and the sprite 'upon obtainment' are actually different sprites (As seen in The Goron Moron's video link at 17 seconds: File:MagicBottle.png - this does have transparency, assuming it was a direct rip, not from a screenshot).
In the inventory, which has a black background, if the sprite has black in it, then that's exactly what the sprite has as the developers had designed it, strictly speaking about sprites here (Perhaps they avoided transparency to save space and just put the black since it will only ever be seen on the black background). If I understand correctly, I think we could upload a separate file with transparency instead of black, which strictly wouldn't be the sprite anymore, but I'm not sure how necessary it is. Considering the situation here, things would at least be improved by adding File:MagicBottle.png to the Bottle page somewhere perhaps?
Curiously I notice that this file actually doesn't look like the bottle in here and personally checked also, because the 'shine' on the right the top is cut off. Does anyone know whats up with that? Was it actually ripped properly and without loss?

Ok, I return again with some more input.
I notice the inventory version of the potions e.g. File:Magicmedicine.gif has had black sections removed for the reason: "Cleared black section for consistency in Potion Gallery" (in fact they missed removing the black section at the top too). So now there is now inconsistency with this inventory bottle here - Should we have the black sections left in or removed?
I only did a tiny bit of research on this, but whether it is actually black or transparent should be differentiable, which I think is according to what on the palette is considered black or transparent using a sprite editor, etc., though I haven't figured out how to do this yet. For the image 'when obtained' for bottle and potion (here) we can observe in-game that there is transparency, so these are fine at least.
Also, I'll mention this again, but this file doesn't actually look exactly the same as in the inventory in game...

While looking through inventory sprite rips on TSR, such as here, we actually found that the sprites do have a black border around them. This makes sense since the inventory is black to begin with, so making those sprites transparent for the screen would be pointless. While we're obviously not going to include the black border in our rips, in this case, the black bit inside the Bottle's inventory icon is part of the sprite and should be kept.
Basically, the sprite icon is fine as-is and we really don't need to change anything about it. - Midoro (T C) 17:54, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Cool, makes sense, so it's good we reached a decision (well I assume we're all fine with it, correct me if I'm wrong). Following from this, however I find more related issues (unfortunately yes, I know one might find it to be getting a bit tiresome):
So shall I go ahead and replace all of these, following what we decided, and also with File:Magicmedicine.gif's 28x32 size, as they are in this link again? --KokoroSenshi 12:50, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
