Water Toadpolis are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Presumably smaller versions of Deku Toads, they inhabit pools of water in the Goron Mines and certain caverns. They attack Link by spitting slime at him, and the easiest way to defeat them is to shoot them with the Hero's Bow, but a well-timed Shield Attack can bounce their own attacks back at them.
Water Toadpolis are very cowardly, and will dive into the water whenever Link approaches, making it difficult, but not impossible, to defeat them with a sword. They act very similarly to the Octoroks from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Etymology
Edit
The name "Toadpoli" is a reference to a tadpole, the young of a frog or toad. This makes it seem like they are related in some way to the Deku Toad.
