This part will take you through Mutoh's Temple.
Inside the TempleEdit
In the first room that we enter in this Temple, we see two switch orbs up ahead, and next to them are two stone tablets. The tablet on the left says: "Bombs buy time"; while the one on the right says: "He who chooses the hidden path over the long road will cross in time." Both switch orbs activate timed bridges across gaps. Place a Bomb near the switch orb on the right, then go up and to the right to place a Bomb near a wall to blow up an opening. When the Bomb near the switch orb detonates, it should activate a bridge crossing north over a gap that's near you. Walk to the left to avoid the trap door before the bridge and cross it. Then go to the right and then northwest until you enter a closed-door battle with some Stalfoses. Defeat them and the door will reopen and a bridge will appear to cross a gap going north toward a floor button and a torch. Go across the bridge and press the floor button to light the torch. Now go back down southeast until you reach a floor button to open a nearby door. Go through that door, then open another door to a passageway heading southwest back to the entrance. Slay the Keese and avoid the trap door that you'll come across along the way.
Now that we're back at the entrance, place a Bomb near the switch orb on the left, then go and to the left to cross over some moving platforms. Continue to head left toward another moving platform going in a counter-clockwise circle, avoiding the trap door along the way, until you reach the gap where the switch orb has activated another bridge going north. You should be able to reach the bridge and cross it at this point. Head left and then southwest until you reach a floor button to press, opening another nearby door. Then head northeast until you a reach a closed-door battle with some Stalfoses. Defeat them and the door will reopen and a bridge will appear to cross a gap going north toward a floor button and a torch. Use the floor button to light up the torch, and the spikes near the staircase will be disarmed. Go down the staircase into Basement 1.
Go to the right where you enter this floor, slay a Stalfos, then go south, slay a Stalfos, and cross a bridge over to the other side where a staircase is that will take you back to Floor 1.
In this room that you reenter Floor 1 there are three creatures called Shell Spinners that move around. We can't do anything about these yet except to avoid them. Head to the staircase on the right to go up to Floor 2.
Go to the right and then down to open a door, then carefully navigate through a maze with Like Likes disguising themselves as rupees. Use the Grappling Hook to strike at them from a distance. There's a chest in the maze which contains a Ruto Crown. Upon leaving the maze at the south, go up the stairs and then drop down to the left. Ciela will notice a floor button that's similar to the one found in Basement 12 of the Temple of the Ocean King that's all rusted. We can't use our own boy strength to activate this button. So head up the stairs into Floor 3.
Upon arrival you'll enter a closed-door battle with some Stalfoses and a Like Like. Defeat them and the closed door will reopen and a treasure chest will appear up the stairs to the north. In that treasure chest is our next useful item -- the Hammer. Using the Hammer is simple -- just tap on the screen where you want the Hammer to pound, and it will go over there and pound that spot. Let's go back down to Floor 2.
Use the Hammer to pound the floor button. This will cause a nearby door to open. Go through the door and to the left we'll see a catapult and a stone tablet telling you how to use it. Basically, it's have Link stand on its footprints and pound its round spot with the Hammer. Use that and two more catapults to take you to a plateau on the north where there are three Shell Spinners. Pound them with the Hammer to flip them on their backs, then slay them with the sword. Drop down to the right and go down the staircase back to Floor 1.
Pound the Shell Spinners onto their backs and slay them, then pound the floor button located there. The door will open, leading to a staircase going back down to Basement 1.
Go all the way to the left until you reach a boulder on top of a staircase. Roll the boulder to the right to remove another boulder, then go across the bridge it was blocking. Go north until you reach a locked door, then go to the left where you'll enter a closed-door battle with some Stalfoses armed with swords. These are tough enemies, but can easily be defeated with the Hammer. Defeat them, and the closed door will reopen while another door north to that to your right will open. Go through that door and take the staircase down to Basement 2.
Go to your left until your way is blocked by a rolling spiked log that isn't rolling. Pound the two nearby floor buttons with the Hammer and it will start rolling left and right. Now head for the door to the left and wait for a ride with some moving platforms. While riding them use the Hammer to pound away at both floor buttons and Stalfoses on the left and right. The final floor button you pound, which is where you'll finally get off, causes a spiked log to roll north and south. You can go past the rolling log into a small passage to get a chest that contains a Courage Gem if you're collecting them. Mostly we want to go to the right and up the stairs to a chest that contains a small key. Then go up the nearby staircase that will take you back to Basement 1.
Press a nearby floor button to open the door just ahead of you, then go across the same bridge that you did earlier toward the locked door. Unlock it, and you'll have a pyramid switch to strike with the sword. This will lower the water in the room so you can drop down a level. Drop down to the left and travel that way until you reach nine blue tiles with X's on them and three red tiles with O's on them. A nearby stone tablet will tell you that "the path will open when mighty attacks change the color of the tiles". What we want to do is change all nine of the blue tiles to red, so pound on them with the Hammer to flip them over to the other side until you get all nine tiles red. This will cause a door south of you to open. Go through that door and head south until you reach where a catapult is located. Use it to launch yourself back up a level and then aim an arrow toward the pyramid switch southeast of your location. This will make the water level rise up again.
Now go across the bridge to the southwest corner of this floor where we have another set of nine blue and red tiles to flip over. Pound them until they all flip over to red, causing a nearby door to open. Then go to the right, cross a bridge going north, and stand in a spot where you have a clear arrow shot to the pyramid switch you have flipped over earlier. The water level will go back down, allowing you to drop down to the right and enter a staircase heading back down to Basement 2.
Head to the right and now we have twelves tiles that need to be flipped over to blue, causing a bridge to appear that crosses a gap to the east. To the north is the Big Key Door. Go across the bridge and take the staircase back up to Basement 1.
Head to the right and use the two catapults to launch up to where you're level with the arrow redirect orb. Use the Boomerang to switch its direction to south, then fire an arrow so that it will be redirected to the pyramid switch south of it. This will cause the water level to rise back up. Then cross the bridge, use an arrow on the redirect to make the water level go down again, and flip another series of nine tiles until this time they form this pattern:
This will open a nearby door to the west of you. Drop down to the right, launch yourself up one level to the left with the catapult, then go through the door and travel to the upper left where your way is blocked by a boulder. Push the boulder until it is on the catapult, then launch it until it is at the top of a staircase. Then go up to the staircase and line up the boulder with another boulder to your right so you can push it into that one and destroy it. Go down the stairs to the right until you get to the chest with a small key in it. Then go to the catapult and launch yourself one level up to the north, then travel to the right and then south until you reach a locked door. Open it and then go south and then west until you reach a boulder that's already on a catapult. Launch it northward until it lands on another catapult. Here is where we'll need to keep launching the boulder with a series of catapults (and also launch ourselves) until it reaches a place where we can push it down the stairs until it destroys another boulder to the left. Go to the left and we have the treasure chest that contains the Big Key. Take it with you to the nearby staircase going back down to Basement 2.
Here we'll need to ride a moving platform with the Big Key and also play "whack-a-Stalfos" with the Hammer as we head for where the ride ends: near the Big Key Door. Enter the room beyond the door where we'll need to use a series of catapults to launch ourselves to the staircase leading to Basement 3.
There's nothing we really need on this floor, just pots for breaking to get hearts and weapons and a blue portal that will lead us back to the entrance of the Temple. Head for the door that's north of you to meet the Temple Boss.
Temple Boss: EoxEdit
As Link enters the chamber, he sees a stone colossus come to life called Eox. It moves around very slowly, pounding the ground with its fist and shooting arrows from its head at Link.
Eox has red bolts on various parts of its anatomy, which is its weak spots. Use the catapults to jump into the air and pound those weak spots with the Hammer as often as you can, revealing its wooden framework. Keep repeating this while avoiding Eox's fist-pounding and arrows until you totally remove its stone covering. Then pound away at the red bolts at the front section of its torso. Eox's skeleton will collapse, leaving you with its head which will hop around and fire arrows. Catapult onto its head and slash away at the jewel at the top until you get shaken off. Keep doing this and eventually Eox will be defeated as its form will turn into sand. Link will get out his Phantom Hourglass, and we now have two more minutes added to the hourglass. A treasure chest will appear that will give us our next Heart Container.
A staircase will appear behind Link that will take us into the chamber where Link will talk to the spirit of King Mutoh. He will now present us with the third pure metal: the Aquanine. After we get it, step into the blue portal to leave the Temple.
