As the title says this is a list of my favorite Zelda games and why. This my own personal oppinion, so if for whatever reason you don't like one of these games then don't take it out on me. Take it out on yourself for not liking them.
The Wind Waker: The reason that I like this game is because it's uniqueness. A like the idea of the Great Sea, and the many Islands that inhabit it. Princess Zelda really being the pirate is very neat, especially since, unlike Sheik, Tetra doesn't even know about her heritage untill nearly the end of the game. I like how you can encounter as much in the ocean as you can on dry land, in fact the whole idea of sailing in itself is a great idea. The designers completly re-did the ideas of Zelda (Tetra), Link, and Ganon. They're much more expressive then before, and I like the cartoony feel of them. A think that theme of wind and the Wind Waker in general is very cool and takes The Legend of Zelda to a whole new level.
Orcarina of Time: This is one of the best Zelda games ever. It was the first one to go to 3-D graphics, which resulted in more expansive dungeons, more detailed characters, and altogether a better game. As well as graphics, the dungeons are hard but not frustrating, the mini-quests larger and more interactive, the bosses are amazingly detailed and well thought out. There are the return of many old weapons, such as the classic SwordandShield, the Boomerang, and the Bombs. Other races play a much larger part in OoT, in fact all but two of the Sages are of another race: Darunia the Goron, Princess Ruto the Zora, Impa the Sheikah, Nabooru the Gerudo, and Saria the Kokiri. All in all I really love this game.
Minish Cap: I know that a lot of people don't like this game, but I think it rocks! Minish Cap was the very first Zelda game I ever got, so it holds a place close to my heart. I think that the Minish are really inventive as a species, and I'd like to see them are bit more in future Zelda games. Vaati was a good subsitute for Ganon/Ganondorf and I think he did a good job of filling the role of "Dark, evil, scary, mean, hates-Princess-Zelda" dude. The shrinking Link was a neat idea, and I like how you can explore an area in two different points of view: Minish-size and Human-size. The boss battles where you had to fight a giant Octorok and a giant ChuChu were lots of fun, and I liked playing the game. Also Ezlo was a nice change from the usual fairy companion.
