I am Jedimasterlink, and I am an Administrator at this wiki. I have been contributing here since 2009. My real name is undisclosed because I'm just paranoid like that, so just call me "Jedi" or "JML" if my username is too long to type out. "Master" would be appreciated, too. (That was a joke. You can laugh if you like.)
As you may have gathered from my username, I am also a Star Wars geek. I've read many of the books that chronicle its expanded universe (stuff that takes place outside the six movies, before, after, and between them) and love the movies (well, the original trilogy plus Episode III, anyway. Not that I and II are horrible, but...you know what I mean if you've seen them).
I am also musically inclined. I have played the clarinet for over six years now, and given my relatively low level of experience, I am very good at it (though as of late I've been out of practice due to more academic things taking over my life). However, I pretty much only have classical music (and the Star Wars soundtrack =P) on my MP3 player, because frankly, I don't care for much else. I'm weird that way among other ways. I can still appreciate the good bands and artists across a wide range of genres, though.

I am a Nintendo fanboy; I have only owned one non-Nintendo gaming device (a PC), which isn't used as much for gaming compared to my N64, Wii, and DS.
I have only played six N64 games. You can probably guess two of them pretty easily.
My best characters in Brawl are Ike and Falco, though I generally prefer Ike. Not exactly sure how that works, seeing how Fox and Marth were my best characters in both of the past games, and I tend to prefer fast characters in all fighting games.
My favorite episodes are The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith. (Take that, prequel haters!)
Okay, fine, to the prequel-haters' credit, Attack of the Clones is easily my least favorite Star Wars movie.
My favorite Expanded Universe authors are Timothy Zahn, Michael A. Stackpole, and Drew Karpyshyn.
Don't bother asking how man times I have seen the movies. I lost track years ago.
I tend to pay little attention to details unless I absolutely have to because I find the big picture much more interesting.
Grammar tends to be an exception the the above statement.
Being an admin, I tend to have good editing savvy (though I do make some careless mistakes). Don't be afraid to ask if you have questions!
Those careless mistakes I mentioned above? Yeah. I once permabanned myself when trying to block someone else. Go ahead and laugh. Though it is pretty funny in hindsight, actually.
I am a Christian.
My favorite book series is the Ender Quartet by Orson Scott Card.
I am extremely shy, perhaps to the point of having a social anxiety issue. If I seem a bit aloof, that's probably the reason.
I know 27 digits of pi, counting the first three--3.14159265358979323846264338. Yeah, that's nothing compared to what some people here know (TM, XZ), but it's still noteworthy. Sort of.
I really enjoy math and science and attend a school that emphasizes these. (What a nerd.) This school is also the main reason I'm not as active as I'd like to be, but I'm not complaining. Generally, I really like it here.
Zelda Games I Have Played
I've played all of the console games plus Phantom Hourglass. Listed under each game are achievements for each game, the number of times I have beaten them, and some things I'd like to achieve eventually. I have written more detailed reviews for the games I have played.
This is the first time I have completed 100% on the first try in a Zelda game where this actually feels like an accomplishment (Zelda II doesn't count).
Zelda Game Rankings
This list starts with the best and goes down to the worst. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the games but the Zelda II. Everything above Phantom Hourglass is on my somewhat long list of favorite games.

What the header says. These are only is semi-specific order, so I'll organize them by tier. That way, I don't have to reorganize them every time I have a slight change of heart (which will still happen occasionally). Within tiers, the games are organized alphabetically, ignoring the series name if a subtitle is present. The only game with a set position is Majora's Mask, which is obviously #1. I mean, obviously.

What's with the saturation of Zelda titles? Who knows. Why do I edit here instead of the Fire Emblem Wiki or MarioWiki (other than the obvious reason that this wiki is better)? I'll leave that for you to determine. Perhaps a better question is, why are there no Star Wars games listed? Mainly, just remember...Star Wars in first and foremost a fantastic movie series, despite everything else it has grown into. Not that there aren't good Star Wars games, mind you, they just aren't as good as the games listed here, in my opinion. Not the ones I've played, anyway (I've heard KotOR is supposed to be fantastic).
Mostly Nintendo-produced titles appear on this list, and most of those are from one of two series...kind of makes it look like I don't play a wide variety of games in the first place, which isn't really accurate. Oh, well.
Musical Trivia I Have Noticed
This is a list of reused musical phrases I have noticed in the Zelda series within different music. Some are well-known, while others are a little more obscure. This list also ignores remixed versions of songs, because those are just way too obvious to be worth mentioning. I hid the ones that contain spoilers. If you've played the game it spoils (or if you just don't care about that stuff), you can highlight the text to see it.
A phrase from "Kokiri Forest" from Ocarina of Time plays in Outset Island and Forest Haven in The Wind Waker. In both cases, it is the same phrase, though the two versions are slightly different.
A phrase in the music played when Wolf Link is trapped in Twilight in Twilight Princess is vaguely similar to the opening phrase of the music played when the happy mask salesman tells Link about Majora's Mask in Majora's Mask. (For the record, I don't believe the creators of Majora's Mask were the Twili. This is the only concrete evidence I have ever seen, except music rarely proves anything anyway.)
(Wind Waker Spoiler)The Title theme from A Link to the Past plays when the King of Hyrule assembles the Triforce of Wisdom, transforming Tetra into Princess Zelda in the Wind Waker.
(Wind Waker Spoiler)After Ganondorf is defeated in The Wind Waker, when the King of Hyrule speaks to Link and Zelda, the counter-melody of one of the phrases of this version of the "Royal Family" theme sounds similar to the counter-melody of the dungeon music from the original Zelda.
In Snowhead Temple, a dungeon in Majora's Mask, one phrase sounds vaguely similar to the main melodic line of the Ice Cavern mini-dungeon music in Ocarina of Time.
The final notes of "Ballad of Gales" from The Wind Waker are similar to the last notes of "Minuet of Forest" from Ocarina of Time, though the first interval is different.
(A Link the Past spoiler)When Link gets the Triforce after killing Ganon in A Link to that Past, the brief music clip played is similar to the music played whenever Link learns a new Ocarina song.
The music of Dodongo's Cavern from Ocarina of Time and Dragon Roost Cavern from The Wind Waker are also similar. (Lisa actually noticed this one first.)
In Phantom Hourglass, the end credits music borrows a little bit from the end credits music of A Link to the Past.
In Skyward Sword, during the ending cinema, when the camera pans over the Master Sword, the music resembles music from the part of the ending cinema in Ocarina of Time where the camera, again, pans over the Master Sword. This same track incorporates the main theme in a way that sounds like a part of the End Credits of A Link to the Past.
Theories
I enjoy reading about Zelda theories. I like scenarios designed to have a definite answer (unless a definite answer would screw stuff up, as with a public and clearly defined Zelda timeline *cough*Hyrule Historia*cough*), so while some may prefer certain things to remain mysterious, I like being able to come to a final answer. I'll only list relatively popular theories, for the most part.
Theories I Believe
Link is not mute. His "lines" are indicated by ellipses (...). In some games, Link is promoted to give a response with more than a simple yes or no. Link also has actual dialogue in TWW.
The deformed tree seen near the beginning of Majora's Mask was the Deku Butler's son, whose soul was within the Deku Mask. Someone might as well just officially confirm this theory, which is so heavily implied I question its status as a "theory".
Link was looking for Navi at the beginning of Majora's Mask. There aren't exactly many alternatives. (Read: There aren't any logical ones.)
Stone Tower was created to blaspheme the goddesses of Hyrule. Triforces in questionable positions, obscene gestures...yeah. This is also worth considering, though some parts are a bit far-fetched.
X feature from OoT Hyrule became Y in the Great Sea. These are either definite transformations (Death Mountain -> Dragon Roost Island) or very clear references (Spectacle Rock -> Spectacle Island). Kakariko -> Windfall, however, strikes me as silly.
The Skull Kid in Majora's Mask is one of the Skull Kids from Ocarina of Time. How else would he know about Saria?
The Spirit Temple was converted to the Arbiter's Grounds. Makes sense to me, given its location and physical similarities.
Dark Link has no allegiance to anybody. It's not like you ever see him fight alongside anybody, and he always just seems to randomly appear. The main point of this theory, I think, is that Ganondorf does not command him like he commands, say, Jalhalla and Molgera.
The Ghost Hunter (guy who buys Poes) may be the one-eyed man who can see the truth. He appears to have one eye, and he seems to have some of the powers the one-eyed man was supposed to have.
Sheik is female in one sense and male in another. Basically, since Zelda=female and Sheik=Zelda, then Sheik=female. However, this only applies to her soul/spirit/quintessence/whatever you want to call it. Sheik's physical body is male, since nothing will naturally make Zelda look that masculine.
Theories I Disbelieve
Volvagia is female. Link of the Gorons would know better than that.
The Man from the Curiosity Shop is the man from the Trading Post. Are the Bombers all the same person because they look the same? Of course not (the two men in question don't look identical anyway). Besides, it's possible to see the Man from the Curiosity Shop wile the Trading Post guy is still working during the normal events of the game for a long enough time that a programming error, in my opinion, does not explain this theory sufficiently.
Ganondorf was already inside the Sacred Realm when Link returned to his childhood. I mention this because some people try to say this when explaining their timeline theories. Link never actually put the Master Sword back (so the Sacred Realm was still closed), but the fact that Zelda is in the courtyard after this means Ganondorf hasn't even attacked yet. The Door of Time was most likely open because 1) Link needed a way to leave the temple, and 2) there was no code script for closing it.
The Twili made Majora's Mask. Some say that some part of the Fused Shadow looks like the eye of Majora's Mask or something. Never mind that the eye on it's own is pretty generic.
Stallord is either Volvagia or King Dodongo. Neither of them are nearly big enough, they are the wrong shape in some way, and they died in Death Mountain while Stallord is deep in the desert.
Jabun is Jabu-Jabu. This is one of the most groundless theories I have ever seen. Sure they're both giant fish, but they look completely different. They may have some relation, but saying they're the same is ridiculous.
Telma is a Gerudo. Something about that just doesn't click.
The Twilight Princess Link is a descendant of the Hero of Time. In an interview with Nintendo Power magazine, Eiji Aonuma said that this isn't necessarily true. Even though he didn't say anything concrete, his statement proves that the idea is irrelevant.
The Hero of Time got stuck in the Lost Woods, explaining the Hero Shade's Stalfos-like appearance. As I already said, it's clear that the Hero's Shade can take on whatever appearance he wants.
The World of The Ocean King is a flooded Termina. If they are the same place since they are both alternate dimensions, Link and Ganondorf are the same person since they are both people! LOLOLOL LINK KILLS HIMSELF!!!!111one
Groose is somehow related to the pirates in TWW. Seriously? His theme does seem to closely resemble the pirates' theme at first, but upon further inspection, I found that the two themes are pretty different (completely different melodic lines, different key, etc.). Music rarely proves anything anyway.
Interesting yet Uncertain Theories
The Mirror of Twilight is the big mirror in the Spirit Temple. Seems far-fetched since I doubt Nintendo would think about it much. Still, if this was true, I may consider this: the pulley system used to lift the stone slab near the mirror may be the same mechanism used in OoT that Link used to reach the boss room, given its proximity to the mirror seen in Spirit Temple.
The Sheikah became the Interlopers. Their proficiency with magic and near extinction in OoT fits this theory, plus their symbol seems to be connected to the Twili. Incidentally, both are referred to as "Shadow Folk".
The Gerudo became the Interlopers. We don't actually know the gender of most of the Twili, so they may all be female. If Zant was the only male, this would also explain why Zant feels so strongly about his kingship (and makes his relationship with Ganondorf quite ironic). And of course the Gerudo symbol had something to do with the Twili even before Ganondorf started manipulating Zant.
The Interlopers are a conglomerate race. There seems to be enough evidence for the two above theories that both races, and perhaps more, may have contributed to the current Twili population.
The Goddess's Harp from SS is Sheik's harp from OoT. Again, nothing in either game besides appearance suggests this, but it's an interesting thought.
Groose is the ancestor of the Gerudo. There's not much evidence for this, though Groose's red hair and golden eyes allow the theory to hold a small amount of water. At the very least, he looks more like a Gerudo than other people associated with Gerudo theories.
Pros and Cons in the Zelda series
Another thing plenty of other people have done, but hey, it's amusing for all of us (or perhaps not), so let's have at it. Note that usually, the things I dislike do not significantly alter my impression of the games -- I just think these things are fun to point out. The the things I like, on the other hand, sometimes help define my impression of the game. Or they might simply be mild amusements.
The Legend of Zelda
Pros
The catchy, iconic 8-bit music.
The Engrish in the original version (more because it's amusing than because it contributes to anything (because it doesn't contribute to anything)).
The lack of a true in-game map. It was annoying at first, but taking the time to make a more precise hand-drawn map was pretty satisfying.
Cons
The inaptly named "Money-Making Game". No, wait, I take that back--I'm sure the Old Man makes a ton of money off of it.
Wizzrobes. They're the most overpowered enemy in the game when they're in swarms.
Heck, what am I saying? Everything past about level 6 is overpowered.
Until you have five or six hearts, dying is extremely common. Of the 80 deaths I had on my first playthrough, perhaps just under half were during the early stages of the game. (I know, this is extremely ironic given the above point, but that's how my experience went.)
The Adventure of Link
Pros
The magic system.
Error.
Cons
That adventure Link has.
The title--"The Adventure of Link"? Seriously?
Pretty much every enemy not found in the starting field area is overpowered.
Thunderbird. That thing must have killed me at least 200 times.
A Link to the Past
Pros
The opening sequence and its rain effects.
The diversity and usefulness of most of the items, especially the Hookshot and Magic Rods.
The magic system.
The final boss.
Cons
Most Dark World enemies are overpowered. At least it's not as bad as it was in the last two games.
Mothula...the second hardest boss in the series after Zelda II's Thunderbird.
What exactly did Ganon mean by "alter-ego" anyway? If he was possessing Aghanim as it appears he was, he's talking nonsense.
Ocarina of Time
Pros
The Ocarina songs.
The Forest Temple, the game's best dungeon and home to its best boss battle. Those things don't usually accompany each other.
The plot development during the Child portion.
Epona.
The Sheikah, especially Sheik.
Cons
During the later part of the Adult portion, there is very little plot development.
The Spirit Temple's concept, while pretty neat, wasn't used to its full potential in my opinion. This bothers me because I can think of several ways to make use of the time-travel idea more effectively.
The Marathon. Why does it even exist?
Gold Skulltulas. Why the heck are there so many of them, and why can I only ever find half of them!?
Majora's Mask
Pros
The atmosphere. I think we know what I'm talking about.
The story and the characters. If not for that one guy, there would not be a single bad character in this game.
Clock Town. Easily the best location in the series.
The 3-Day Cycle. Giving the world a fourth dimension makes it feel so much more alive.
The Bombers' Notebook.
All four dungeons, especially Stone Tower Temple, the best dungeon in the series.
Everything about Ikana Canyon.
The music.
I could go on.
Cons
You lose all of your Rupees every time you go back in time. Sure, there's a bank, but going to it before playing the Song of Time every single time and making sure I have enough time to do so can be a pain after a while.
Some masks, like the Mask of Scents and the Circus Leader's Mask, have no practical use; they aren't need for beating the game, and their limited uses aren't that...errrr...useful.
Tingle. Luckily, this is his most benign incarnation.
The Wind Waker
Pros
The Great Sea and everything that entails -- sailing, the islands, the Sea Charts and its relevance to the story.
The Rito, especially Medli.
Tetra and her band of pirates.
Many of the other characters.
The Earth Temple, one of the most creative dungeons in the series despite its stereotypical catacombs setting. Credits to Medli and the Mirror Shield for making that happen.
Cons
Tingle, in his most annoying canon incarnation to date (I'm sure he's worse in his own games).
The Forbidden Woods. I just don't like it for some reason.
The game is centered around and takes place in water, yet there's no water dungeon. I like water dungeons ;_;
Four Swords Adventures
Pros
It's actually pretty fun with four players...assuming you can find that many people with the appropriate equipment.
Tingle's Tower is an entertaining diversion, despite being hosted by, well, Tingle.
Phantom Ganon in multiplayer mode.
Cons
Tingle. What a surprise. At least in this game, there's a good reason to pop his balloon beyond the sadistic pleasure it derives.
The game is broken into levels like a platformer when it plays like a simplified adventure game.
There are very few actual characters, and all of them are one-dimensional.
It's meant for four players, but few people are able to play it that way. The game is much more fun that way; trust me.
Twilight Princess
Pros
The story and the atmosphere it requires.
The twilight realm's visuals.
Double Clawshots. Heck yes.
The City in the Sky, for housing a second Clawshot and being a great dungeon.
The Temple of Time, for being an even better dungeon.
The Cave of Ordeals. A gauntlet like this is very appropriate for a game that seems to focus so much on the combat aspect of the gameplay.
Cons
Wolf Link was sorely underutilized in the second half of the game, and his abilities were highly underdeveloped.
There is a lot of searching in this game--60 Poe Souls, 24 Golden Bugs, and 45 Heart Pieces. That's more than I can handle without a guide.
Rollgoal. It's not as bad for me as it is for some, but it's still annoying.
Agitha is about as annoying as Tingle...that squeal of a voice of hers drives me insane.
Despite being an entophile (yes, that's a word...it is now, anyway), she thinks snails are bugs while even someone with only a passing interest in this sort of thing (namely me) can tell you snails are gastropods, not arthropods.
The enormous yet empty overworld.
Phantom Hourglass
Pros
The stylus controls.
The note-taking system (which may or may not go with the above).
The Temple of the Ocean King. Yes, this is in the right section.
There are actual, useful rewards for those blasted collecting sidequests.
Cons
The difficulty (or lack thereof). Why does Nintendo think easier games are better these days?
The almost nonexistent story.
Ship parts. If they're going to be random, can the probability that I will get a duplicate be lowered?
Neptoona. I think a fourth of my playthrough before clearing the main story was devoted to catching that blasted thing.
Bellum. Seriously, worst. Villain. Ever.
Skyward Sword
Pros
The epic story.
The motion controls. While not perfect, no control scheme is, and this is a very good one.
Many of the characters.
Biff TannenGaston Groose.
Skyloft, the second best location in the series.
Zelda, for being an excellent character rather than a MacGuffin.
The Sandship and the Lanayru Mining Facility, featuring Timeshift Stones.
THAT MUSIC. Seriously, why do so many people not care for it? I don't think I could ask for much more.
Cons
You can't fly at night? Seriously?
Speaking of the sky, it's a barren wasteland.
This game, more than any other Zelda game I've played, seems like it's trying to utterly destroy the space-time continuum.
Apparently, the Beetle, the Clawshots, and the Bug Net are the only items worthy of having extensive overworld applications.
I will never, ever need even 5,000 Rupees at once. So what's the point of having a maximum capacity of 9,900 Rupees?

You might have seen these once or twice around here. If you haven't, you clearly have not looked at enough userpages yet. Here they are again. Enjoy.
*I am referring to the artistic quality of the graphics, not the "technical" aspects of graphics (resolution, detail, etc) that Sony and Microsoft fanboys care so much about for some reason. Ex: AoL seems to have more detailed graphics than LoZ 1 has, but I believe they are artistically inferior to those of LoZ 1 (seriously, some parts of AoL legitimately look bad due to the colors, "textures", or whatever applies at the time).
Hold up a second! Why are most of the tables conspicuously (or not) missing an FSA row? Er, well, really, I just didn't feel like putting anything together for that game. The characters are just...suffice to say even LoZ has more memorable characters. And I'm really not even sure what constitutes a dungeon in that game, if anything does. And most of the music in FSA came straight from ALttP, so I'd just be duplicating the ALttP list. Why exactly am I talking about something that almost nobody would notice since it isn't there? Ummmm...that...is an excellent question...Let's just credit the fact it's not there in the first place to laziness and be done with it.
