Biography Edit

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Uncle Rupee

Uncle Rupee tells Tingle to collect an appealingly large amount of Rupees for him, and he will allow Tingle into Rupeeland, a paradise where no one has to work. He encourages Tingle to embark on his quest to get to Rupeeland, and "transforms" him into the man he is today. Uncle Rupee gives Tingle his well-known red-and-green costume, as well as the name Tingle.

Throughout the game, it is strongly implied that Uncle Rupee is untrustworthy. In the end, it is revealed that he is a Rupee demon who uses the Rupees to grow stronger. He curses people, transforming them into so-called Tingles and enslaves them to do his bidding and gather Rupees. Uncle Rupee becomes the final boss, and Tingle must defeat him.
