The Legend of Zelda: Space World 2000 Demo was a technical demo shown at the Nintendo hosted game trade show, Space World. This demo featured a realistic adult Link in a swordfight with Ganondorf. Both of the characters' models were based off their designs in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but were rendered in updated Gamecube graphics.
The demo was only designed as a technical demonstration and was never intended to be an actual game. Despite this both fans of the series and the media speculated that the battle might be from a game under development or at least an indication of the direction the next Zelda game would take. This would later cause many fans to be surprised and furious at the look of the next Legend of Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker which featured a cel-shaded art style with a younger Link, but this was made up for after Twilight Princess was announced a few years later.
