Talking Timbers are recurring characters in the Legend of Zelda series. As implied by their name, they are trees that are capable of speech.
Appearances
Edit
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Edit
Talking Timbers are found throughout the Dark World. They are nearly indistinguishable from similar trees, the difference being that they have eyes that follow Link. If Link dashes into one with the Pegasus Boots, it will spit out a bomb at him. If Link speaks to one afterwards, it will either provide him with information, or berate him for being careless and order him to leave it alone, then spit out a bomb.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Edit
Talking Timbers are found exclusively outside the Seashell Mansion in the Ukuku Prairie region of Koholint Island. If spoken to, they will inform Link about the existence of Breakable Walls, and how to use a sword to discern such walls from solid ones.
Identical trees appear throughout Subrosia in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, but cannot be interacted with in any way.
