Etymology of Shabom[]

It seems likely that the origin of the name "shabom" comes from the Japanese シヤボン玉, "shabondama", "soap bubble". When romanizing Japanese, the "m" and "n" are interchangeable when they stand alone. Bodo 15:44, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Theory : Why Shaboms Damage Link / What Shaboms are likely made out of. - Not Evil, but enzymes.[]

Shaboms are most likely acidic in nature, or are an bubbly form of enzyme meant for breaking down food: This is why they damage link in my theory, with several points to back it up:

  • Shaboms are rainbowish in color, they likely get this from their acidic / enzyme nature.
  • Shaboms bounce around aimlessly, suggesting just like digestive fluids, they have no sentience and are one of the few minor enemies to not have any sentience nor sapience of any kind. They probably have even less sentience and sapience than like likes and deku babas.
  • Shaboms were likely there before any of ganondorfs corruption and monsters seeped into Jabu Jabu, as Ruto does not mention Shaboms being an anomaly, it is more likely Ruto learned to walk past these and avoid them as they have no nervous system to guide themselves.
  • Biri are probably a rank higher in sentience and sapience than shaboms by an whopping 0.01 percent, since a jellyfish is really just a cluster of nervous systems. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TirsiakIngolf 00:25, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
