Please Note: This page is for discussion of this specific 'Glitches' page only. All further discussion of the wiki Glitch Project take place on the Glitches/Project Page. On that page are the glitch Contributors, Glitches yet to be proved/ disproved, possible phony glitches, glitches yet to be perfected and games needing more glitches. That is the page for us to put this sort of stuff for reference, and then the talk page is to discuss it. Notice that I also shrunk the contents of that page for easier reference. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 23:47, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Improvement of Page[]

Eh... is this article doing anything useful? The writing is quite icky and it doesn't really seem to address anything. --Jase 21:42, 27 January 2007 (CST)

Consider it a page to kill the clutter on useful pages. ;) Many glitches are listed on other pages and only serve to distract from the main content. Mel was saying that he and Adam want no glitches in main articles. But I think some of them are fair for the page. Just not the ones with icky writing and leading to a lot of noncanonical nonsense. jmo.Axiomist 03:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

'Canon Room' glitch?[]

Given that a 'cannon' is the object found inside the room where the glitch takes place, would it not be the 'Cannon Room' glitch?

The spelling fix must have gotten reverted after moving servers. It seems like somebody already fixed it for me. Cool. --Jase 13:39, 20 April 2007 (PDT)

Bridge of Eldin glitch[]

If Link saves after the Bridge of Eldin is teleported away, he will be trapped UNLESS he goes into the Twilight THEN saves. The effect of this glitch is that Link can no longer get past the bridge, thus forcing him to restart the game.--4.252.2.85 00:00, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

Postman[]

I've heard of a glitch allowing you to kill the postman. I've never done it. So I can't verify it's true or not.Axiomist 03:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

What game did you hear that this was in?--Matt 14:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Twilight Princess. Axiomist 07:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
He's only in cutscenes though, except for when he's ordering meat at Telma's bar. I guess that would be the time to strike then. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 13:55, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
If you approach the trigger for the cutscene at the right angle, he will walk off a cliff. That's all it is. Triforce (T C) 17:04, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletion Discussion[]

As has been stated above, this article is scrappy, small and doesn't really do much for the wiki, hence its been flagged for quite a while. Currently I'm taking on starting more in-depth official Glitch pages across the wiki, and have just begun to undertake Glitches in Majora's Mask. I will be continuing in time across the Majora's Mask Glitches and all of the games, making a glitch category, fixing page re-directs, ever updating/ improving the glitches and formatting them so they eventually have demonstration videos. With these new pages coming around, which have an easier to follow/ user friendly format for each glitch, this small page serves no purpose, and I think should be deleted, to make way for a better project. {{:User:Melchizedek1866/sig

I'm actually against deleting this. I'd say leave it as-is until the new pages are done. Then rewrite this page to have the most notable glitches of each game, with links back to the main articles.Matt (Talk) 16:09, August 26, 2008 (UTC)
Some good points you do raise. It could be a good idea of having a page for notable glitches, however how would we decide what a notable glitch is? Also the Title "Glitches" isn't good, because it's the exact same name as the Category: Glitches. I agree that a page like that would be useful, however not as this page, but a page titled "Notable Glitches in The Legend of Zelda Series". Anyway, will add that to my to do list.
Now onto my new idea for what to do with this page. When people search the Wiki for Glitches, they're probably just going to type "Glitches" into the search box, leading to this page, not the good articles. I think we should use this page as an disambiguation, directing people to whichever glitch game page they want, or the notable glitch page.
So I definately retract the deletion proposition, and this page can become a disambiguation? As for the stuff that was on the page, I've saved that with all the other glitch stuff I have on my PC that I'm slowly adding to the wiki. I'll go ahead and make it a disambiguation, and hopefully you'll like it, otherwise we can undo that, and continue talking. {{:User:Melchizedek1866/sig

I'm guessing you liked it??!! {{:User:Melchizedek1866/sig

Stuff[]

Apologies guys for my inactivity in glitches recently. I will make heaps of contributions to glitches during the rest of my holidays. I vow to make this 'project' way better before I set my feet in my school again! - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 10:11, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
I will be making a Glitch Contributor user box today, and also fixing up this page. It's a bit all over the place. - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 23:29, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Placing Glitches In Categories[]

I think that if this has not already been done, that it should be. I am thinking we should get all of the glitch pages like the 'Glitches In Majora's Mask' page. For example, lets say there is a 'Be Epona' Glitch. But, it is all by its self. Instead of spamming the table of contents, and the page, it could be under 'Epona Glitches.' If oked, I will work on it. I will give the 'Glitches Yet To Be Proven/Disproven' a break. User:Austin2862/sig 04:25, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. It will make the pages more user friendly and navigatable! - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 08:30, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Orangizing Paragraphs[]

I've noticed tht there are two kinds of paragraphs on the glitch pages. One paragraph style is just a straight forward usual paragraph. The other one is split into differnet sections; such as 'effects', 'how to', ect. I was wondering if it matters what kind of paragraph is displayed on the page. ...and if ZW would rather have split paragraphs over straight forward ones... User:Austin2862/sig 18:25, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

For now it doesn't matter. But we will soon get a set glitches template in which every glitch must be written out according to that format! - M E L C H I Z E D E K  (TALK) 00:00, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
