[edit] Dark Link Reflection in Twilight Princess

For some reason, I can't get this to work. I follow the instructions, and nothing happens. I'm using the Wii version, though. PastramiX 14:28, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

you're probably doing it right. What do you see? Twilitlink 03:57, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Er, no, it's not working for me either (I'm using the Gamecube version, so I don't think it matters in terms of what version it is). When I extinguish my lantern, I can't even see the mirror, much less my reflection. Is there a trick here I'm not getting, like a certain distance or angle or something?

No....Besides, doesn't Dark Link have red eyes?

yes but the mirror doesn't change the eye color as for not seeing it are you looking in 1st person view?

Yes, I've tried looking in 3rd person view and 1st person view, neither works for me.

This sounds like another one of those stupid GameFAQs rumors. It don't work for me and nobody I know.

Strange it works for me. Maybe it only works for the Gamecube--ShutUpNavi 03:28, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm...maybe it's like with Ocarina of Time? You know...only some versions of that game (with different builds and subtle changes) include the bug where one can save and start a new game after Link loses the Master Sword in the battle with Ganon, allowing him to use items while on horseback and suches?

And for the record, I have the GameCube version and I tried it. Nothing really happened. So that would be my suggestion. Perhaps it only works on select releases of the game?

should it really be there. its just link in a dark room. theres abosolutly no reason it has to be dark link. Oni Dark Link

There's definately a reflection in the mirror, but it doesn't look like Dark Link. You just barely see Link's silouhette, and the only clear thing are his eyes, which you can just see the whites and the pupils of. I have a Wii, so it's not a console thing, it's probably that some of the newer versions might have it removed. User: Iriadinh, Hero of Air

I'm not sure if it's because my eyes aren't that great (even with my glasses on), but the only thing I can see in the mirror is Link's eyes, and they are most definitely NOT red. His silouhette is nowhere to be seen. Diachronos (talk) 20:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Dark Link's existance in both timelines?

does Dark Link exist in both timelines or only in the destroyed verion of the future? Twilitlink 16:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, that's entirely a matter of what timeline theory you believe. If you believe a theory in which Dark Link only appears in games from one timeline, he only appears in that timeline. If you believe a theory in which he appears in games split up between both timelines, he appears in both.

this is probably a hotly debated thought, but I haven't found it before so I wouldn't know. well where did this being (if he is in fact an actual living being) come from in the first place? I theorize that it may actually be an enchantment or spell of some sort. It could have been a trap created by one of the seven sages in ocarina of time, in order to guard the invaluable longshot. This could be evidenced in Oracle of ages when Veran summons a few Dark Link replicas to aid her.

Nobody really knows. Some say that, like you said, he is an enchantment or spell. Some say that, because the Master Sword repels evil, when Link drew the Master Sword, it caused his "dark" half to split from him, creating Dark Link. There are a whole bunch of other theories, but from what I've seen, those appear to be the strongest.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No." Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring into bloody Hell; all those liberals and intellectuals and smooth-talkers... and all of a sudden nobody can think of anything to say."

I was disappointed when I saw how few people supported the hallucination (caused by an excess of red potion) or "It's all a dream" theories.

Hmm, I noticed me some weird information here. It appears that the Four Swords appearance contains the same information as the A Link to the Past appearance section. Also, the image used in the section reminds me quite a lot more of ALttP than Four Swords, graphically. Do the Dark Links and the Palace of the Four Sword appear in both games? Or is there some kind of confusion here? Haven't played FS meself.

Additionally, I'm a bit unsure on whether or not to use an enemy box, as we do now, or change to a character box. A character box usually helps fill out more detail, and he is not an enemy in all appearances.

the only game he isnt an enemy is in twilight princess and he doesnt really have any known character histroy or personalty (unless we base it wholy on shadow link). as for the four swords the dark links in that arent real dark links just darker coloured tunics of links (as far as i know). four swords adventure however he plays an important role in the story and doesnt eem anything like the link to the past one. Oni Dark Link 00:05, September 19, 2009 (UTC) now that i take a look at it i know what you mean. im not sure if their actuly played on the fourswords section of the game. i dont think so but ill check it out Oni Dark Link 00:09, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Why...?

Why exactly is the fanart of Dark Link allowed in the gallery? It's a pretty blatant photoshop of Link's Brawl artwork, and it doesn't contribute to the content of the article in the slightest. And since when is fanart of any sort considered acceptable in a mainspace article? Miles (talk) 22:46, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

I was a bit unsure about that one meself. But I can't claim to know what every bit of Smash Bros. artwork looks like, and it's not like it's beyond Nintendo to just release edited images as artwork.
