Super Smash Bros. is the first installment of the Super Smash Bros series of fighting games, released for the Nintendo 64. The game features many of Nintendo's major characters. Link is the only character from The Legend of Zelda franchise present in this game, and his stage is the rooftops of Hyrule Castle, which are highly similar to the rooftops of the castle in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Link's character model and weapons are all from Ocarina of Time. The game also features Heart Containers, which heal the player when used.
[edit] Link
Link comes equipped with his signature Master Sword, as well as Bombs, his Hookshot, and his Boomerang. He can also use his Spin Attack to grab extra air time. He has a more "slow and steady style" of fighting and is often at his best while at a distance. For this reason, he is often considered one of the worst fighters available by many professional smashers.
Link has several alternate costumes, two of which are based off of the Goron Tunic and the Zora Tunic.
