The Strange Flute is an item that appears in both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. In each game, there are two ways to obtain the Strange Flute; each way yields a different animal companion.

Note - It is advised to choose the partner you wish to have in the beginning of the game and get the Strange Flute according to the partner you want. If you fail to get the Strange flute before meeting the default partner, there is no way to choose one of the other two.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

In Oracle of Ages, the first way to get the Strange Flute is by buying it from the shop in Lynna City for 150 Rupees.

The Second way to receive the flute is by scoring over 250 points in the Shooting Gallery game in Lynna City in the past.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

In Oracle of Seasons, the first way to get the Strange Flute is by buying it from the Shop in Horon Village for 150 Rupees.

The Second way to receive the Strange Flute is by dancing in the Subrosian Dance Hall; however, if Link has not received the Boomerang, he will receive it before he gets any other prize, including the Flute.

In Oracle of Ages, if Link obtains the Strange Flute from the Shooting Gallery , Ricky will identify the flute as his own, and he will become Link's partner for the remainder of the game.

In Oracle of Seasons, if Link does not obtain the Strange Flute from either the shop or the Subrosian Dance Hall before meeting Ricky, he will be given Ricky's Flute instead, and Ricky will become his partner for the remainder of the game.

In Oracle of Ages, if Link does not obtain the Strange Flute from either the shop or the Shooting Gallery game before meeting Moosh, he will be given Moosh's Flute instead, and Moosh will become his companion for the remainder of the game.

In Oracle of Seasons, if Link buys the Strange Flute from the shop in Horon Village, Moosh will identify the Flute as his own and will become Link's partner for the remainder of the game.

In Oracle of Ages, if Link buys the Strange Flute from the Shop in Lynna City, Dimitri will identify the Flute as his own and will become Link's partner for the remainder of the game.

In Oracle of Seasons, if Link wins the Strange Flute from the Subrosian Dance Hall, Dimitri will identify the Flute as his own, and he will become Link's partner for the remainder of the game.
