"If you shoot that which releases the sacred golden light into the blood-stained, red emblem outside the temple... it shall rearrange things, in which the earth is born in the heavens and the moon is born on the earth."
Garo Master

Stone Tower Temple is the fourth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is a very unique temple due to the fact that the player plays it right side up as well as upside down (while upside down the temple also mirrors itself).

[edit] Story

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Link is sent by the King of Ikana to defeat the evil inside Stone Tower Temple and lift the curse that turned Ikana into a wasteland. After defeating the boss, Twinmold, Link collects the final Boss Remains. With these remains, the curse on Ikana is lifted and most of the monsters that haunt it disappear. This also frees the fourth giant, which means he is finally able to summon the four giants and confront the three forms of Majora's Mask.

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.

[edit] Dungeon

The exterior of the Stone Tower Temple

Stone Tower Temple is located at the top of Stone Tower. In order to get there, the player must use the Elegy of Emptiness, which allows all forms of Link to be cloned. The main items to obtain in this dungeon are the Light Arrows and the Giant's Mask. The Light Arrows are used to turn the dungeon upside down. The Giant's Mask can also be found within the temple. The boss, Twinmold, is actually two giant worms. The temple is greatly complicated, especially the collection of fairies, by the inversion aspect of the temple. A hidden chest containing a simple blue rupee in the upright version may turn out to be a crucial hookshot point in the inverted version. It is exactly that type of puzzle that characterizes the difficulty of the temple. The player may be forced to realign the temple in order to solve a puzzle that allows him or her to proceed in the inverted version. The Stone Tower Temple is also the target of a large amount of theorizing.
