- "With their remaining power, they buried the Demon King's spirit in the ground. They built shackles to imprison him, and a tower that acted like a key."
- — Prologue
The Tower of Spirits is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. The tower serves as a means of keeping order over New Hyrule and the Spirit Tracks, but during the game, it is broken apart into four segments. The sage of the Tower of Spirits, Anjean, uses all her strength to hold the tower's base down, and this gives Link enough time to ascend the first portion of the structure and begin his quest to stop Chancellor Cole and prevent the revival of Malladus.
Link periodically returns to the Tower of Spirits whenever he returns one of its pieces, much like the Temple of the Ocean King from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Another similarity shared by the Temple is that is patrolled by Phantom Guardians. However, unlike the Temple Link does not have to return to sections he has already explored, instead being able to climb up a central staircase, and the time limit that was present in the Temple does not return.
