- "This is a melody that heals evil magic and troubled spirits, turning them into masks. I am sure it will be of assistance to you in the future."
- — Happy Mask Salesman
The "Song of Healing" (いやしの歌 Iyashi no Uta?) is a song from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is the second song that Link learns after reclaiming the Ocarina of Time. After returning from the Final Day, Link visits the Happy Mask Salesman in Clock Town's Clock Tower. Upon discovering that Link retrieved his ocarina, the Happy Mask Salesman conjures an organ seemingly out of nowhere and teaches him the "Song of Healing", removing the curse placed on Link by the Skull Kid and sealing it inside a mask. A slower version of the song is played in the area beneath the Clock Tower and a faster version is used as a leitmotif for the Happy Mask Salesman. The "Song of Healing" motif is also adapted into the fanfare that plays when Link receives a mask.
The "Song of Healing" heals troubled spirits and souls, turning them into masks. It doesn't always seem to turn the troubled spirits into Masks though, as the Hero's Shade didn't turn into a mask when Wolf Link howled the song. However, there are other spirits who are immune to the song's magic, a prime example of this being Sharp; the only effect it has on Sharp is temporarily soothing him, only for him to resume his attack. This could be because Sharp has no soul to heal. There is also Poe Collector, who only says not all spirits can be remedied by the song, though it does drop the price of the Poe Sisters battle from 30 to 10 Rupees.
The "Song of healing" is an essential song, used to obtain the Deku Mask, the Goron Mask, the Zora Mask, Kamaro's Mask, and the Gibdo Mask. If played in front of a Gossip Stone, it will cause a Fairy to appear. It can also be used to repair a broken sign like "Zelda's Lullaby" does in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is one of the songs that Wolf Link howls during a cut-scene with the Hero's Shade in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Link can play the "Song of Healing" on the Ocarina of Time by playing Left-C, Right-C, Down-C, Left-C, Right-C, Down-C. The actual pitches of the notes translate as follows: B, A, F, B, A, F. Interestingly, the notes for the "Song of Healing" are the exact same as "Saria's Song" when played backwards.
