The Secret Passage is a location from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It is a hidden tunnel leading through the sewers underneath Hyrule Castle. At the beginning of the game, Princess Zelda is locked in a prison cell deep within the castle by Agahnim. She telepathically contacts Link and asks him to save her. Once he locates her inside the palace, they travel through the secret passage, located behind the King's throne, to a remote Sanctuary. There, Link leaves Princess Zelda in the care of the Loyal Sage while he sets out to acquire the Pendants of Virtue and the Master Sword.
Link can return to the Secret Passage by way of a gravestone in the graveyard to the north of Hyrule Castle. If he has bombs or the Pegasus Boots, he can destroy cracks in the walls, leading to a room containing many (300+) Rupees.

Theory warning: This section contains theoretical information based on the viewpoints or research of one or several other users. It has not been officially verified by Nintendo and its factual accuracy is disputed.
It is probable, although not explicitly stated, that this is the same sewer passage used by Wolf Link and Midna during their own prison escape in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
