"Look at that poor girl over there. She works so hard taking care of her chickens, even though touching them gives her goose bumps... What a trooper! I would really like to help her! I've just been feeling so charitable these days! Don't you feel that way, too?"
— Sabooro

Sabooro is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A Hylian man, he is one of the Carpenters working for Mutoh.

Biography

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

When Link is a child, Sabooro can be found in Kakariko Village with the other Carpenters. They are employed by Impa to turn Kakariko Village into a grand city like Hyrule Castle Town, but they are all too lazy to get any work done. Sabooro can be found lurking near the workers' only construction project. Here, he watches Mutoh's daughter, Anju, take care of her Cuccos, and comments about her being brave due to her being allergic. At night, Sabooro can be found in one of the houses with the other Carpenters, where he complains about his hands not being smooth anymore, due to all the physical labor he does.

When Link awakens from his seven year slumber in the Sacred Realm, he finds Mutoh in Gerudo Valley, where he tells Link that all of his workers ran away to Gerudo's Fortress, in hopes of joining the Gerudo band of thieves. When Link travels to the fortress, he finds that all of the Carpenters have been imprisoned by the Gerudo. Link rescues Sabooro, and the Carpenter informs Link about the Phantom Guide in the Haunted Wasteland as thanks. He then travels back to Mutoh and helps repair the bridge in the valley, with the aid of the other freed Carpenters.

When Link defeats Twinrova in the Spirit Temple, Sabooro will comment about Nabooru being brainwashed by the witches, when he is spoken to in Gerudo Valley.

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.

Etymology

The name Sabooro is most likely derived from the Japanese name Saburo (三郎), meaning "third son."
