"A two-handed sword not properly cared for. Although it can be used as a weapon, its durability is very low. Don't expect it to last for more than a few strikes."
Hyrule Compendium

The Rusty Claymore is an item in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a two-handed greatsword that has rusted due to not being properly cared for. Though it can be used as a weapon by both Link and enemies, its durability is low and only lasts for more than a few strikes. However it can still be used to cut grass without breaking as grass does not effect its durability. Interestingly, its base attack power is greater than the Traveler's Claymore but the Traveler's Claymore has greater durability.

Like other "Rusty" weapons, it can be refreshed into better two-handed swords by feeding it to Rock Octoroks when they are sucking in air, which will cause them to chew it up then spit out a better greatsword. This allows Link to obtain stronger two-handed swords such as Traveler's Claymores, Knight's Claymore, and rarely Royal Halberd.
