The Red Candle The Red Candle is an item from The Legend of Zelda. It is found in Level 7. Its function is exactly like that of the Blue Candle; it burns bushes in the overworld to reveal hidden staircases and illuminates darkened rooms in dungeons. The difference is that the Red Candle can produce as many flames as the user wishes to make, whereas the Blue Candle can only make one flame per screen. The red candle makes looking for hidden doors behind brush in the overworld easier, and an effective weapon in a few situations.

The original Legend of Zelda is the only game in the series where two different types of candle are available. In the later games, he uses a single kind of candle or another source of light, such as a lantern.
