The Raqa Zunzo Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Raqa Zunzo's Blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Raqa Zunzo Shrine is initially buried beneath the ground at the Sand-Seal Rally in the Gerudo Desert. The only signs of it are a Pedestal and an Ancient Orb, known as the Grand Trophy, nearby. However, if Link tries to take the Grand Trophy, Shabonne will yell at him, stating it is only for those who have proven themselves at Sand-Seal Racing.[2]

When Link speaks to Shabonne and Tali, Shabonne asks if he wants to try and beat Tali's time at Sand-Seal Racing.[3] She explains if Link can surpass her record, he can have the Grand Trophy, which has been passed down by Sand-Seal Racing champions for 10,000 years.[4] This initiates "The Undefeated Champ" Shrine Quest.

If Link successfully beats Tali's record,[5] she will allow him to take the Grand Trophy.[6] She shares a legend about the Trophy, which states that the chosen one will be granted a new power when it is offered to the Pedestal.[7] Despite never obtaining that power, she believes Link may be the chosen one.[8]

By placing the Grand Trophy in the Pedestal's Stone Sphere Socket, Link will cause Raqa Zunzo Shrine to emerge from the sand.[9] This completes the Shrine Quest. As he enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Raqa Zunzo, who tells him that he has already proven his worth by entering.[10]

Themes and Navigation[]

Raqa Zunzo Shrine is one large room with no puzzles or enemies, only a single pathway leading to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Raqa Zunzo. There is a Treasure Chest in the center of the room containing a Radiant Shield. As a reward arriving to this Shrine, Raqa Zunzo gives Link a Spirit Orb.[11] The Monk then wishes him well before fading away.[12]
