"Tee hee hee! Tell me, little boy... Can you control the wind? Hee hee! So young, to have such power... How did you know to find me here? I am the queen of the fairy world! What is the matter, my child? Does that not surprise you? Young one... I like you."
— Queen of Fairies

The Queen of Fairies is a recurring character in the Legend of Zelda series. She has the appearance of a child, although it is unknown if this is her true form. Despite this, she is actually a queen who is greater and more powerful than even the Great Fairies. Her role in Link's adventures are not very large, but they are significant.

[edit] Appearances

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker it is she who grants Link the power to add fire and ice to his arrows, after Tetra learns her true identity. If Link approaches her before this, then she would tell him the time is not right and that he should return later. She tells him after she gives him this power that Link was just her type, although her meaning is uncertain. Many fans assume that she takes a liking to Link, and, based on Link's reaction to this comment, it seems as though he feels the same way towards her. She carries a "doll" that greatly resembles a Great Fairy.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures

The Queen of Fairies also appears in Four Swords Adventures at Hyrule Castle in the Whereabouts of the Wind. She has been split in two, both halves resembling a river Zora from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. When Link restores her to her true form, she opens the barrier blocking the entrance to Phantom Ganon's lair.
