The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Edit
The Quake Medallion is needed to open the entrance to the Dark World's seventh dungeon, Turtle Rock. The Quake Medallion has the power to create massive earthquakes, damaging enemies and weakening lesser opponents by turning them into Slime. However, it cannot be used without the Master Sword, as Link finds out if he tries to use it while his Master Sword has been left at the Smithery for tempering, possibly because the magical quake is unleashed by striking the ground with the sword.
The Quake Medallion is obtained near the Lake of Ill Omen. Upon throwing an object into the circle of stones, a giant fish appears and offers Link the medallion in exchange for him not pestering it anymore. Any subsequent objects thrown into the circle will just cause the fish to appear and shoot a fireball at Link.
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Edit
The Quake Medallion is first found near the end of the Death Mountain Foothills stage. However, the item is not gained permanently and must be carried around until thrown and used. Once the medallion is thrown, it turns every enemy on the screen into Slimes. The Mage who gives Link his first Quake Medallion claims he enchanted the Medallion, giving it these properties.
