The Quake Medallion is an item from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This powerful magic medallion is needed to open the entrance to the Dark World's seventh dungeon, Turtle Rock. The Quake Medallion has the power to create massive earthquakes, damaging enemies and weakening lesser opponents by turning them to Slime. It cannot be used without the Master Sword however, as Link finds if he tries to use it while his Master Sword has been left at the Dwarves' Smithy for tempering, possibly because he strikes the ground with his sword, releasing the magic.
The Quake Medallion is obtained near the lake in the Dark World, known as the Lake of Ill Omen. Upon throwing an object into the circle of stones, a giant fish appears and offers Link the medallion in exchange for him not pestering it anymore.
