Lake Hylia
Properties
Bow 10

Phrenic Bows are a type of Bow passed down through the Sheikah tribe.[1] They belong to the Sheikah Gear equipment archetype, which includes all Weapons created by the Sheikah.[2] By concentrating before pulling the string, the user can enter a first person view that allows them to shoot distant targets as easily as those nearby.[1]

Phrenic Bows are most commonly found in Treasure Chests in and around Lake Hylia and West Necluda. There is also a Lizalfos that uses a Phrenic Bow at the skull rock base north of Sahasra Slope in the Lanayru Wetlands. Finally, they have a chance to appear in Treasure Chests that spawn when the Super Smash Bros. Series Sheik amiibo is scanned with the amiibo Rune.

Sheikah archers, such as Impa's bodyguard Cado, utilize Phrenic Bows in Kakariko Village. They have a wooden construction, and thus they will burn if exposed to a source of Fire or a Scorching Climate. As a result of this, however, they do not attract Lightning during Thunderstorms or conduct Electricity, and they will float if dropped in Water. They also cannot be picked up with the Magnesis Rune.

Cado is equipped with a Phrenic Bow, which Link can take a picture of with the Camera Rune to add its entry to the Hyrule Compendium. Additionally, Link can find two more mounted inside of Cado's House, though their model is part of the environment and the Camera Rune does not register them.

Trivia[]

  • Due to a glitch, Cado's Phrenic Bow may become unequipped when he is not on guard duty. However, it can be easily fixed by sitting at a Campfire or sleeping at the Shuteye Inn.
