Moths are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. They are hostile creatures that inhabit Woodfall Temple. They are found fluttering around certain lit torches, and can be summoned by the dungeon's boss, Odolwa.
When Link lights a Deku Stick near a group of Moths, they will give chase and deal damage to him upon contact. They cannot be defeated through conventional means, but will stop attacking Link once the burning Deku Stick is no longer lit. If Link takes out a Bomb, Bomb Flower, Bombchu, or Powder Keg, the Moths will fly to it and be destroyed in the explosion.
The Moths summoned by Odolwa during the dungeon's boss battle will flutter about after Link despite his lack of a burning Deku Stick, dealing damage to him in the process. The only way to defeat them is with a bomb, or a Bomb Flower, which are conveniently found in the chamber in which Odolwa is fought.
Moths appear as uncatchable bugs in Breath of the Wild and are attracted to streetlight-like lanterns found in Hateno Village at night. They also appear around the lantern next to Reeza at the entrance of the Gerudo Chieftain's palace in Gerudo Town at night. Unlike Terminan moths in Majora's Mask, the Hyrulean moths are harmless and only appear to provide ambiance. Ironically they are not attracted to the glow of Remote Bombs or the lit fuse of Bomb Arrows and will remain unharmed by explosions.
