"This fruit grows mainly in tropical forests of the Faron region. When it's used as an ingredient, the resulting dish will temporarily increase your attack power."
Hyrule Compendium

Mighty Bananas are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are curative items that restore Link's health by refilling one half Heart Container. Mighty Bananas can be obtained from banana trees in the tropical forests of the Faron province of Hyrule. Interestingly the Hyrule Compendium lists the Faron province itself as their common location as it is the only place where they grow naturally. Link can also purchase them from the Fruit Shop run by the elderly fruit seller Emri in Kara Kara Bazaar in the Gerudo Desert region. However they generally only have one bunch in stock. Link can sometimes find them by breaking wooden and metallic crates.

Link can roast them with fire or volcanic heat to prepare Roasted Mighty Bananas which restore three quarter of a heart container. Link can also throw Mighty Bananas into a pot to prepare dishes granted with a "Mighty" effect increasing attack power. They can also be cooked with "Mighty" small animals such as Bladed Rhino Beetle, and Monster parts or Guardian Parts to create Mighty Elixirs.

Members of the Yiga Clan are known to be quite fond of Mighty Bananas and as both Yiga Footsoldiers and Blademasters will drop them when defeated. Mighty Bananas can also be used to distract Yiga Blademasters while sneaking around in their lair, as well as Monk Maz Koshia during his boss fight. Along the road west of Zelo Pond in Lanayru Wetlands is a disguised Yiga Footsoldier who actually sells Mighty Bananas. He has 99 Mighty Bananas in stock for Link to purchase though reveals himself as a Yiga Clansman afterwards and attacks though Link can keep the Mighty Bananas he purchased. The Banana Merchant's Hylian appearance changes though he is located in the same location. Like all disguised Yiga Footsoldiers, the Banana merchant's name is rendered for his dialogue box as simply Traveler. Hinox also drop Mighty Bananas along with other kinds of fruit and Fortified Pumpkins (which are classified as a vegetable in Hyrule). It is implied standard Hinox are primarily Frugivorous.

"Are you shopping too? I'm seeing if there are any mighty bananas here... mighty bananas are absolutely loaded with protein and calories, you know. Eating them will fill you with power! They're always up for sale at Kara Kara Bazaar, even though there may not be a ton of them. I've heard about a tribe that only eats mighty bananas. Whenever they're available, the tribe buys all it can."

The Gerudo Nali also likes Mighty Bananas but she can never seem to find them in the Gerudo Town marketplace and can't travel to Kara Kara Bazaar as she never learned to Sand-Seal surf properly when she was younger. She notes Mighty Bananas are loaded with protein and calories. She also notes hearing of a tribe that eats only Mighty Bananas presumably referring to the Yiga Clan implying Yiga Clansmen eat only Mighty Bananas and dishes made from them. She also notes hearing that the clan buys up as many as they can whenever their on sale explaining why Kara Kara Bazaar has so few in stock and why they are unavailable in Gerudo Town (Yiga Clansmen are masters of disguise easily capable of entering Gerudo Town). It also explains why Yiga Footsoldiers and Blademasters drop them as they purchase them whenever their available.

Mighty bananas provide identical benefits to Razorshrooms when cooked. They are better cooking ingredients than Mighty Thistles, but are worse than Mighty Porgy, Razorclaw Crab, and Mighty Carp.
