The Subspace Emissary

The Subspace Emissary is the Adventure mode in Brawl. It tells the story of the Subspace Army, led by the Ancient Minister, and its attempt to bring the world into Subspace. Most levels appear to require the player to choose between one of two characters. There is also a Co-op mode that allows two players to play at the same time. Most of the enemies in the Subspace Army make their debut in Brawl, while most of the bosses have appeared in previous Nintendo titles.

An item that was only in the original Smash Bros. returns in brawl. Like the ones in a pinball game, anything that goes near it will be hit/bounced off into another direction. In Brawl it is passive, meaning after picking it up you automatically gain the power for a short time and it is no longer held.
