โ | Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the sequel to Super Smash Bros. Melee being developed for the Wii. Several characters are returning from the previous games, and many more characters are being added as well. The game will feature online multiplayer, and confirmed to have a deep single player experience, called The Subspace Emissary. It is currently scheduled to be released in North America on March 9, 2008. |
||
+ | The Ball & Chain Trooper is (as its name suggests) a fully armored knight wielding a massive spiked ball on a chain. They appear as some of the hardest foes in several Zelda games. |
||
โ | In this game, Link will appear in his Twilight Princess incarnation, as opposed to the previous games, where he appeared as depicted in Ocarina of Time. Also Brawl features two Zelda songs, a medley featuring several songs from Ocarina of Time, including the Lon Lon Ranch theme/Epona's Song, Bolero of Fire, Song of Time, Zelda's Lullaby and Saria's Song and a remix of the Great Temple song from Zelda II. |

||
+ | The Ball & Chain Trooper, also known as the Mace Knight is a possessed Hyrule knight from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past that wields a heavy flail, and first appears as the guardian of Princess Zelda's cell. At this early stage of the game it is the most difficult enemy Link has yet faced; the weapon it is named for has a long reach and does serious damage. It also recovers fairly quickly from being stunned by the boomerang. Mace Knights are the highest class of Hyrule knights and therefore are the most powerful. They require many swipes with the sword to defeat them. Bombs are also useful. When in doubt, the player should use the Boomerang to stop them in their tracks. Later in the game, when ascending the Castle Tower, Link must face several more of these foes. Some wear dark grey armour while others wear gold. |

||
+ | A Ball & Chain Trooper is encountered within Kanalet Castle, guarding one of the Five Golden Leaves you need to collect for King Richard. Other than this, Ball and Chain Troopers are rarely found in this game. |

||
+ | Several of these enemies appear in Four Swords Adventures, once more as very challenging enemies. |
||
โ | The Subspace Emissary is the Adventure mode in Brawl. It tells the story of the Subspace Army, led by the Ancient Minister, and its attempt to bring the world into Subspace. Most levels appear to require the player to choose between one of two characters. There is also a Co-op mode that allows two players to play at the same time. Most of the enemies in the Subspace Army make their debut in Brawl, while most of the bosses have appeared in previous Nintendo titles. |

+ | ==Minish Cap== |
+ | These soldiers swing a damaging ball and chain, and are one of the hardest enemies |
||
+ | in the game, but can be destroyed by: |
||
+ | #Dodging their ball and chains, then striking with your sword; or |
||
+ | #Using Roc's Cape to jump over their ball and chain and perform a down thrust. |

โ | * Beam Sword |
||
+ | ==Twilight Princess== |
||
โ | The Beam Sword is an item from the Super Smash Bros. series. It has been changed, in some way, in each release. In the original game, it was stronger than the sword that appeared in the sequel; along with the strength change, in Melee, the length of the sword was proportional to each character. In the first two games the beam sword appeared with a pinkish-purple color, but in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the sword now appears with a blue color. |
||
+ | An enemy similar to the Ball & Chain Trooper also appears as the mini-boss of the Snowpeak Ruins in Twilight Princess. Named Darkhammer, he is a Lizalfos in heavy armor, and to kill him you must have to Clawshot over him when he throws his weapon at you so you can hit his tail. Or you could sidestep to avoid his attack and use a Back Slice to get behind him. Vanquishing him will result in Link obtaining the Ball and Chain. |

Similar to how the regular hammer can lose its head, the Golden Hammer will occasionally lose its power and make a squeaking noise when you hit an opponent. |
||
โ | The Golden Hammer may be related to the hammer found in the Mario game, Wrecking Crew. The shared ability to float in midair and the fact that both appear on a pedestal further proves this. |
||

โ | * Smoke Ball |
||
โ | |||
โ | The Smoke Ball, when thrown, releases a cloud of multi-colored smoke that obscures the view of the players. It appears to have no other adverse effects, since it cannot hit the players, and therefore can do no damage. |

The Ball & Chain Trooper is (as its name suggests) a fully armored knight wielding a massive spiked ball on a chain. They appear as some of the hardest foes in several Zelda games.
A Link to the Past
The Ball & Chain Trooper, also known as the Mace Knight is a possessed Hyrule knight from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past that wields a heavy flail, and first appears as the guardian of Princess Zelda's cell.
Link's Awakening
A Ball & Chain Trooper is encountered within Kanalet Castle, guarding one of the Five Golden Leaves you need to collect for King Richard. Other than this, Ball and Chain Troopers are rarely found in this game.
Four Swords Adventures
Several of these enemies appear in Four Swords Adventures, once more as very challenging enemies.
Minish Cap
These soldiers swing a damaging ball and chain, and are one of the hardest enemies in the game, but can be destroyed by:
- Dodging their ball and chains, then striking with your sword; or
- Using Roc's Cape to jump over their ball and chain and perform a down thrust.
Quote from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Ball & Chain Soldier figurine:
"Appears in the Palace of Winds and Dark Hyrule Castle. They're not fast, but that iron ball is a bruiser! Try to hit them after they swing the ball."
Twilight Princess
An enemy similar to the Ball & Chain Trooper also appears as the mini-boss of the Snowpeak Ruins in Twilight Princess.
