+ | Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the sequel to Super Smash Bros. Melee being developed for the Wii. Several characters are returning from the previous games, and many more characters are being added as well. The game will feature online multiplayer, and confirmed to have a deep single player experience, called The Subspace Emissary. It is currently scheduled to be released in North America on March 9, 2008. |
||
+ | In this game, Link will appear in his Twilight Princess incarnation, as opposed to the previous games, where he appeared as depicted in Ocarina of Time. Also Brawl features two Zelda songs, a medley featuring several songs from Ocarina of Time, including the Lon Lon Ranch theme/Epona's Song, Bolero of Fire, Song of Time, Zelda's Lullaby and Saria's Song and a remix of the Great Temple song from Zelda II. |

If the boss name is the same as that of the article you can delete the name field. The
type
field is optional and should only be used for mini-bosses where it should equal
mini
to put them in the Mini-Bosses category instead of boss category |

+ | == The Subspace Emissary == |
||
+ | The Subspace Emissary is the Adventure mode in Brawl. It tells the story of the Subspace Army, led by the Ancient Minister, and its attempt to bring the world into Subspace. Most levels appear to require the player to choose between one of two characters. There is also a Co-op mode that allows two players to play at the same time. Most of the enemies in the Subspace Army make their debut in Brawl, while most of the bosses have appeared in previous Nintendo titles. |

+ | An item that was only in the original Smash Bros. returns in brawl. Like the ones in a pinball game, anything that goes near it will be hit/bounced off into another direction. Also, unlike the original version, this item can be placed in mid-air which can make sure that when someone falls off the edge, they can't get back up. |
||

||
+ | |||
+ | *Exploding Crate |

||
+ | |||

||
+ | |||
+ | * Metal Box |

||
+ | * Mr. Saturn |
||
+ | |||
+ | Mr. Saturn are small alien characters from the Mother Series. In Super Smash Bros. They are throwable items that cause minimal damage. |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Party Ball |

Melee and the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It enables the user to spin upwards damaging anyone or anything in it's path. In Melee, the player would hold the item and could throw it at enemies. In Brawl it is passive, meaning after picking it up you automatically gain the power for a short time and it is no longer held. |
||
+ | |||
+ | *Starman |
||
+ | The Starman is an item from the Mario series. When a player touches it, they are immune to all attacks from opponents. However, they can still lose a life by going beyond a stage's limits. |

||
+ | |||
+ | The Super Mushroom is used as an item from the Mario series. When obtained, the Mushroom makes the player grow to an enormous size. + |
|
||
+ | * Super Scope |

||
+ | |||
+ | ===New Items=== |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Banana Peel |
||
+ | |||
+ | The player throws this item onto the battle field, and if another player runs over it, then they will slip on it, and land hard, causing them damage. |
||
+ | |||
+ |

|
||
+ | *Clock |
||
+ | The Clock has been seen on the Smash Bros. DOJO!! site, as well as recent screenshots. Its use is unknown. It can be assumed that it causes everyone and everything in a stage to slow down, except for the player that uses it. |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Cracker Launcher |
||
+ | |||
+ | When picked up, it begins rapidly shooting out fireworks. It can be aimed with the analog stick, and, as with all rapid-fire items in the game, can be walked and jumped around with while shooting. |

The Franklin Badge does not stay on for the entirety of the match, and it is unknown if it can be picked up again when it falls off. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | |||
+ | * Dragoon |
||
+ | |||
+ | The dragoon was an air ride that first appeared in Kirby Air Ride. It reappears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in which it is separated in three parts; the Nosecone, the hull, and the tail. They must all be collected in order for it to be functional. When completed you take aim at an opponent and you are sent flying off. Similar to the Smash Ball, you take the parts away by attacking the wielder of the parts. It is powerful enough in that, if it strikes you, consider it a one-hit KO. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | * Gooey Bomb |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Gooey Bomb is similar to the Motion-Sensing Bomb in that it sticks to the ground. However, this item can also stick to people and, instead of being activated by motion, is on a timer. When a player with a Gooey Bomb attached to him or her touches another player, the Gooey Bomb may be passed on to that player. |
||
+ |
|
||
+ | *CD |
||
+ | |||
+ | |

+ |

|
||
+ | |||
+ | * Golden Hammer |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Golden Hammer is similar the to the hammer that appeared in the first two games of the Super Smash Bros. series. Unlike the regular hammer, the Golden Hammer is stronger and faster and has an added ability which allows you to float in mid-air. Similar to how the regular hammer can lose its head, the Golden Hammer will occasionally lose its power and make a squeaking noise when you hit an opponent. |
||
+ | The Golden Hammer may be related to the hammer found in the Mario game, Wrecking Crew. The shared ability to float in midair and the fact that both appear on a pedestal further proves this. |
||
+ | |||
+ | *Lightning |
||
+ | Lightning is an item from the Mario Kart series that has recently been seen on the Smash Bros. DOJO!! site. It can be assumed that it shrinks all of the players except for the player that used it. |
||
+ | |||
+ | |||
+ | * Pitfall |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Pitfall (or Pitfall seed) originally came from the Animal Crossing series. It is a prank item which when buried can be used as a trap. It causes players to fall through the platform on which it has been used. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | *Sandbag |
||
+ | The Sandbag first appeared as a non-playable character in Melee, but now appears as an item that can be thrown at other characters. It is a relatively heavy item. |
||
+ | |||
+ | * Sliding Crate |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Sliding Crate is nearly identical to the Crate, with the exception that it is on wheels and will begin to move once it is contacted. It takes on different appearances, depending on the stage. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | * Smash Ball |
||
+ | |||
+ | A Smash Ball is an an item that must be broken open in order to execute a super move known as a Final Smash. It is possible to drop a Smash Ball if an opponent hits you hard enough. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | * Smoke Ball |
||
+ | |||
+ | The Smoke Ball, when thrown, releases a cloud of multi-colored smoke that obscures the view of the players. It appears to have no other adverse effects, since it cannot hit the players, and therefore can do no damage. |
||
+ |

|
||
+ | * Superspicy Curry |
||
+ | |||
+ | Superspicy Curry is an item from the Kirby series. It will appear in the upcoming Wii game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After consuming this, all of your attacks and movements will gain a fiery effect. |

+ | * Team Healer |

+ | |||
+ | The Team Healer is an item that can be picked up and thrown. When a player is hit with it, his or her damage meter gets replenished. It is primarily used in team battles to assist allies. |

Template:Future game Template:Game Super Smash Bros.
In this game, Link will appear in his Twilight Princess incarnation, as opposed to the previous games, where he appeared as depicted in Ocarina of Time.

The Subspace Emissary
The Subspace Emissary is the Adventure mode in Brawl.

Items
Returning Items
- Beam Sword
The Beam Sword is an item from the Super Smash Bros. series. It has been changed, in some way, in each release. In the original game, it was stronger than the sword that appeared in the sequel; along with the strength change, in Melee, the length of the sword was proportional to each character. In the first two games the beam sword appeared with a pinkish-purple color, but in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the sword now appears with a blue color.
- Bumper
An item that was only in the original Smash Bros. returns in brawl. Like the ones in a pinball game, anything that goes near it will be hit/bounced off into another direction. Also, unlike the original version, this item can be placed in mid-air which can make sure that when someone falls off the edge, they can't get back up.
The Bunny Hood is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask that greatly increases a player's speed and jumping abilities.
- Crates and Barrels
Crates and Barrels are items in the Super Smash Bros. series. When broken, many items tumble out of them. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, crates and barrels adjust to the theme of the stage. A new type of Crate called the Sliding Box was also added to the game.
- Exploding Crate
The Exploding Crate contains no items and explodes when thrown or broken open. In Brawl, the Exploding Crate has a "flammable" label on it.
- Fan
The Fan was first seen in Super Smash Bros. It is used as a basic weak attack that can rapidly hit other players.
- Fire Flower
An item from the Super Mario series that allows the player to spew streams of flame, similar to Bowser's fire breath, at opponents, causing damage to them.
- Food
Various edible items that appear that lower the players damage meter when eaten.
- Freezie
A block of ice from the original Super Mario Brothers, that when thrown at an opponent will encase them in a massive block of solid ice, and cause damage.
- Green Shell
The shells of the turtle-like Koopas from the Super Mario series. When thrown at an opponent, the shell causes great damage, and knocks an opponent back a great distance.
- Hammer
First appearing in the arcade game Donkey Kong, this hammer sends it's wielder into a swinging frenzy, causing massive damage to anyone that it has struck.
The Heart Container is an item from the Zelda series that replenishes a player's health by 100% when obtained.
- Home-Run Bat
This item can cause a one-hit KO, regardless of the opponents damage, making it one of the most powerful weapons in the game. In Super Smash Bros Brawl, each character has a unique batting stance.
- Lip's Stick
This item, from the Japan-only game Panel de Pon'. When used on an opponent, it causes a flower to grow on their head. The flower causes damage to the opponent over time, until it disappears.
- Maxim Tomato
The Maxim Tomato is an item from the Kirby series. In Brawl, it lowers the player's Damage by 50%.
- Metal Box
First appearing in Super Mario 64, this item turns the player metal, increasing their inertia, making it more difficult to knock them off the stage. However, the player also falls much faster.
- Mr. Saturn
Mr. Saturn are small alien characters from the Mother Series. In Super Smash Bros. They are throwable items that cause minimal damage.
- Party Ball
This is a large pinata like ball that when struck or thrown, rises into the air and breaks open, releasing various items.
- Poison Mushroom
The Poison Mushroom is an item that shrinks a player when touched. When shrunk, a player is faster, but does lower damage and is easily sent flying. The Poison Mushroom is similar in appearance to the Super Mushroom.
- Pokรฉ Ball
The Pokรฉ Ball is an item in the Pokรฉmon series that has appeared in every Super Smash Bros. game to date. When thrown, a Pokemon emerges from it, and either attacks, supplies items, or does nothing.
- Ray Gun
The Ray Gun first appeared in Super Smash Bros. It can be used to shoot other players with fast-moving beams of light. One gun can fire sixteen shots.
- Screw Attack
The Screw Attack is an ability used by Samus in a number of the Metroid video games of the series and an obtainable item in Super Smash Bros.
- Starman
The Starman is an item from the Mario series. When a player touches it, they are immune to all attacks from opponents. However, they can still lose a life by going beyond a stage's limits.
- Star Rod
The Star Rod is an item from the Kirby series that can be used to hit other players or send star-shaped projectiles at them.
- Super Mushroom
The Super Mushroom is used as an item from the Mario series. When obtained, the Mushroom makes the player grow to an enormous size. This size increase makes the players attacks more damaging, and more difficult to defeat, however, it also makes them a large target.
- Super Scope
The Super Scope was originally a peripheral controller used for certain games on the Super Nintendo console. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it became a weapon. It can be sfire rapid shots of light, or can be charged up for a few larger, more damaging blasts.
- Warp Star
The Warp Star appears in the Kirby series. It sends the player high into the air, where the player has a few seconds to control where he or she will land. Any player caught in the impact will be damaged.
New Items
- Banana Peel
The player throws this item onto the battle field, and if another player runs over it, then they will slip on it, and land hard, causing them damage.
- Clock
The Clock has been seen on the Smash Bros. DOJO!! site, as well as recent screenshots. Its use is unknown. It can be assumed that it causes everyone and everything in a stage to slow down, except for the player that uses it.
- Cracker Launcher
When picked up, it begins rapidly shooting out fireworks. It can be aimed with the analog stick, and, as with all rapid-fire items in the game, can be walked and jumped around with while shooting.
The Deku Nut is an item from the Zelda series. Its presumed function is stunning other players when thrown at them.
- Franklin Badge
The Franklin Badge is an item from the Mother series. It is a very small item that, when worn, protects the wearer from all projectile attacks. The Franklin Badge does not stay on for the entirety of the match, and it is unknown if it can be picked up again when it falls off.
- Dragoon
The dragoon was an air ride that first appeared in Kirby Air Ride.
- Gooey Bomb
The Gooey Bomb is similar to the Motion-Sensing Bomb in that it sticks to the ground. However, this item can also stick to people and, instead of being activated by motion, is on a timer. When a player with a Gooey Bomb attached to him or her touches another player, the Gooey Bomb may be passed on to that player.
- CD
The CD is an item that allows you to gain new music for My Music.
- Golden Hammer
The Golden Hammer is similar the to the hammer that appeared in the first two games of the Super Smash Bros. series. Unlike the regular hammer, the Golden Hammer is stronger and faster and has an added ability which allows you to float in mid-air. Similar to how the regular hammer can lose its head, the Golden Hammer will occasionally lose its power and make a squeaking noise when you hit an opponent.
The Golden Hammer may be related to the hammer found in the Mario game, Wrecking Crew. The shared ability to float in midair and the fact that both appear on a pedestal further proves this.
- Lightning
Lightning is an item from the Mario Kart series that has recently been seen on the Smash Bros. DOJO!! site. It can be assumed that it shrinks all of the players except for the player that used it.
- Pitfall
The Pitfall (or Pitfall seed) originally came from the Animal Crossing series. It is a prank item which when buried can be used as a trap. It causes players to fall through the platform on which it has been used.
- Sandbag
The Sandbag first appeared as a non-playable character in Melee, but now appears as an item that can be thrown at other characters. It is a relatively heavy item.
- Sliding Crate
The Sliding Crate is nearly identical to the Crate, with the exception that it is on wheels and will begin to move once it is contacted. It takes on different appearances, depending on the stage.
- Smash Ball
A Smash Ball is an an item that must be broken open in order to execute a super move known as a Final Smash. It is possible to drop a Smash Ball if an opponent hits you hard enough.
- Smoke Ball
The Smoke Ball, when thrown, releases a cloud of multi-colored smoke that obscures the view of the players. It appears to have no other adverse effects, since it cannot hit the players, and therefore can do no damage.
- Superspicy Curry
Superspicy Curry is an item from the Kirby series. It will appear in the upcoming Wii game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After consuming this, all of your attacks and movements will gain a fiery effect.
- Team Healer
The Team Healer is an item that can be picked up and thrown. When a player is hit with it, his or her damage meter gets replenished. It is primarily used in team battles to assist allies.
Assist Trophies
Assist Trophys are items that if used will triger a character to come and aid the player who called him or her. The called character will attack the other players. All Assist Trophys except Stafy are invincible. Here are all known Assist Trophys:
- Advance Wars (Conjuctural name)
