"Rings do nothing unless worn!"
Vasu

Magical Rings are items from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. Specifically, Magical Rings is the term given to Seed Rings that have been appraised by Vasu. The Seed Ring Link receives will usually be one random ring out of the total of sixty-four; however, there are certain Magical Rings that can only be obtained by completing certain tasks. Likewise, there are some rings that can only be obtained from one game and in one location. As Vasu states, in order to activate the ability in a ring, it must be worn. To equip a ring, it must first be placed in the Ring Box from Vasu's list. It can the be activated from the start menu, resulting in an "E" appearing over it. Link can only equip one ring at a time.

Seed Rings can be found in a number of ways, such as Gasha Seed Trees, Maple meetings, mini-games, shops, and Treasure Chests. Obtaining every ring from one game is impossible; however, by creating a Linked Game, it becomes possible to obtain the rings Link could not on the other game. By using the Hero's Secret on the Linked Game cartrage, even more rings become available as the new series progresses.

The list of appraised Rings is as follows, in the order they can be found in Link's ring list at Vasu Jewelers.

{Note: an increase of 1 is the equivalent of 1/4.

Ex 1. An increase of 2 to Link's sword damage means he does 50% more damage.

Ex 2. A decrease of 3 to Link's defense means he takes 75% more damage; enemies that will normally deal 1 heart of damage will deal 1 3/4 hearts of damage.}

[edit] Friendship Ring

Friendship Ring
File:FriendshipRing.gif
Symbol of a meeting

The unappraised Friendship Ring is given to Link the first time he visits Vasu. Vasu will appraise it for free.

The ring has no actual effect on Link, so there is little point in wearing it.

The Friendship Ring can also be obtained randomly through Fortune Linking.

[edit] Power Ring L-1

Power Ring L-1
File:PowerRingL1.gif
Sword damage +1
Damage taken +1

The unappraised Power Ring L-1 can be found in the Explorer's Crypt, the seventh dungeon of Oracle of Seasons. It is located in a chest in the room due northeast of of the dungeon's entrance.

In Oracle of Ages it can be found in one of the chests in the Spirit's Grave, the first Dungeon of the game.

The appraised ring increases the damage done by Link's sword by 1 and increases the damage he takes by 1.

[edit] Power Ring L-2

Power Ring L-2
File:PowerRingL2.gif
Sword damage +2
Damage taken +2

The Power Ring L-2 can be found in Gnarled Root Dungeon, the first dungeon in Oracle of Seasons. The chest containing the ring can be found in the room two screens north and one screen east of the dungeon's entrance. In Oracle of Ages, it can be found in a cave on Crescent Island. The Power Ring L-2 can also be found randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The ring is nearly identical to the Power Ring L-1, but has an a +2 bonus to Link's sword and +2 damage taken from enemies.

[edit] Power Ring L-3

Power Ring L-3
File:PowerRingL3.gif
Sword damage +3
Damage taken +3

The Power Ring L-3 can only be obtained by completing the entire Hero's Cave in a Linked Oracle of Seasons game. At the end of the cave's trials, Link will be rewarded with the ring.

Like its L-1 and L-2 counterparts, the L-3 ring raises Link's Sword damage, but lowers his defense against attacks, this time by 3.

There is no possible way to obtain this ring directly from Oracle of Ages; however, since acquiring the ring requires a linked game from Oracle of Seasons, the ring can easily be transferred using the Ring Secret.

[edit] Armor Ring L-1

Armor Ring L-1
File:ArmorRingL1.gif
Damage taken -1
Sword damage -1

The Armor Ring L-1 can be found in the Great Moblin's Fortress in Oracle of Ages (Present). The Armor Ring L-1 can also be obtained randomly in Oracle of Ages.

The Armor Ring L-1 serves the opposite function of the Power Ring L-1. It raises Link's defense by 1 and lowers his attack damage by 1.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Armor Ring L-2

Armor Ring L-2
File:ArmorRingL2.gif
Damage taken -2
Sword damage -2

The Armor Ring L-2 can always be found on the second level of Goron Mountain in Oracle of Seasons. By bombing the cracked blocks next to the chest in the far upper right hand corner of the level, Link can obtain a seed ring that will be identified as the Armor Ring L-2.

The Armor Ring L-2 decreases the amount of damage done by Link's sword by 2, but increases his defense to attacks by 2.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Armor Ring L-3

Armor Ring L-3
File:ArmorRingL3.gif
Damage taken -3
Sword damage -3

The Armor Ring L-3 can only be found by completing the Hero's Cave in a Linked Oracle of Ages game. The cave is located to the right of the entrance to the Maku Tree

Like its L-1 and L-2 counterparts, the L-3 ring lowers Link's Sword damage, but raises his defense against attacks, this time by 3.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Red Ring

Red Ring
File:Red Ring (Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons).gif
Sword Damage x2

The Red Ring can be obtained after defeating all 4 Golden Enemies in Oracle of Seasons. After defeating them, Link must use the stump west of the Gnarled Root Dungeon to change the season to summer. South of the Dungeon, Link will find a dry patch of ground with a staircase. Inside is an old man who will give Link the Red Ring.

The Red Ring doubles the amount of damage done by Link's sword. It is similar to the Power Rings, but without repercussions to defense. It is useful for fighting strong monsters, and is even effective against bosses. In combination with the Master Sword, it will kill any non-boss and non-mini-boss enemy in one hit.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Blue Ring

Blue Ring
File:Blue Ring (Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons).gif
Damage take=1/2

The Blue Ring can only be found inside the Sea of No Return in Oracle of Ages. The ring itself can be found in a chest located directly southeast of the Ancient Tomb. The Chest is located underneath a large statue that requires the Power Gloves to lift.

The Blue Ring halves the amount of damage done by enemies to Link. Its effect is similar to the Armor Rings, but there are no negative effects to Link's damage. It is useful for fighting enemies that either are strong, or hit hard, such as bosses.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Green Ring

Green Ring
File:GreenRing.gif
Sword damage +1
Damage taken -1

The Green Ring can be found randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. A Seed Ring obtained from a Gasha Seed Tree, Maple, or a mini-game may become the Green Ring after appraisal. Although it can be obtained randomly, the Green Ring is considered to be one of the hardest rings to obtain.

The Green Ring is a combination of the Blue Ring and the Red Ring, although the benefits are slightly lower. The Green Ring increases Link's damage by 1.5 and decreases the amount of damage done to him from enemies by 1/4. This ring's decent attack and defense bonuses make it a good ring to use when fighting strong enemies or bosses, and even for general use.

[edit] Cursed Ring

Cursed Ring
File:CursedRing.gif
1/2 Sword Damage
Damage taken x2

The Cursed Ring can be found randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. It is a very common ring, and Link will likely find many duplicates of it.

The Cursed Ring is the exact opposite of the Green Ring. It doubles the amount of damage Link takes, and it halves his sword damage. Due to the effects of the ring, it is not advised to ever wear this ring. Wearing it makes enemies harder to defeat, as well as more damaging to Link. The only practical use of the ring is to "create" a more difficult version of the games for those looking for a challenge.

The Cursed Ring can also be obtained through Fortune Linking.

[edit] Expert's Ring

Expert's Ring
File:ExpertsRing.gif
Punch when not equipped

The Expert's Ring can be found randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. It is most commonly found from Gasha Nuts and is a fairly rare ring.

The Expert's Ring allows link to punch using the "A" or "B" buttons, as if boxing, when no item is equipped to both the "A" and "B" buttons. The Ring is nearly identical to the Fist Ring, except that the Fist Ring only requires one of the two buttons to be unequipped. However, unlike the Fist Ring, which does half the amount of damage dealt by the Wooden Sword, the Expert's Ring does the same amount of damage as the Noble Sword. Both the Fist and Expert's Rings are similar to the Cursed Ring, in that they make enemies more difficult to defeat, thus creating more of a challenge.

[edit] Blast Ring

Blast Ring
File:BlastRing.gif
Bomb damage +2

The Blast Ring can only be found in a chest on the Western Coast in Oracle of Seasons. After going over the Pirate Ship, Link must go North around the front of the ship and then east. The Chest will be right next to the wall, and inside will be the ring.

The Blast Ring increases the amount of damage Link's Bombs inflict by 1. The Ring is useful for fighting enemies and bosses that require Bombs to defeat, such as Façade and Dodongo.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Rang Ring L-1

Rang Ring L-1
File:RangRing L1.gif
Boomerang damage +1

The Rang Ring L-1 can only be found in a chest in the farthest southeast screen of the Samasa Desert in Oracle of Seasons. The ledge can be accessed by the quicksand pit two screens west. Below is a square of water that Link can dive into. After following the underwater passage, Link will find himself in a small room with a staircase leading up to the ledge with the chest.

The Rang Ring L-1 increases the damage done by Link's Boomerang by 1. Because few enemies can be damaged by the Boomerang, it is not a very useful Ring.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] GBA Time Ring

GBA Time Ring
File:GBATimeRing.gif
Life Advanced!

The GBA (Game Boy Advance) Time Ring can only be obtained in Oracle of Ages. Playing the game on a Game Boy Advance opens a new store in Lynna Village in the Past. Inside will be a few items Link can buy, including the unappraised GBA Time Ring.

The GBA Time Ring is merely a recognition for playing Oracle of Ages on the Game Boy Advance and gives no effects when worn.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Maple's Ring

Maple's Ring
File:MapleRing.gif
Maple meetings ^

Maple's Ring can be found in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. It is found randomly from a Gasha Seed Tree, Maple, Fortune Linking, or a mini-game.

Maple's Ring increases how often Link meets Maple. Without the ring, Maple appears after defeating 30 enemies, but with it, she appears after defeating 15 enemies. This Ring is useful when trying to obtain Seed Rings, Potions, and a Piece of Heart from her.

[edit] Steadfast Ring

Steadfast Ring
File:SteadfastRing.gif
Get knocked back less

The Steadfast Ring can only be found in a chest in the Sword & Shield Maze, the eighth dungeon in Oracle of Seasons. The chest is located on the first floor, the "Shield" part of the dungeon. It can be found two rooms north of the entrance. Using his Hyper Slingshot, Link must light three torches from the platform to the east of the room and then jump down to open the chest containing the Steadfast Ring.

The Ring prevents Link from being pushed back as much by enemy attacks. It is useful in Mini-Boss and Boss arenas where the ground contains holes or other dangerous objects.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Pegasus Ring

Pegasus Ring
File:PegasusRing.gif
Lengthen Pegasus Seed effect

The Pegasus Ring can only be found in an underwater cave inside the Sea of Storms in the Past in Oracle of Ages. It will only be found there in a Linked Game.

The Pegasus Ring lengthens the duration of a Pegasus Seed. It is only useful when traveling long distances with a limited amount of Pegasus Seeds; however, after obtaining Gale Seeds, Link can simply "warp" to different locations, essentially eliminating the need for the ring.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Toss Ring

Toss Ring
File:TossRing.gif
Throwing distance +1

The Toss Ring can always be found by winning the Big Bang mini-game on Rolling Ridge in Oracle of Ages.

In Oracle of Seasons, the Toss Ring can be found randomly.

The Toss Ring doubles the distance that Link throws objects, including anything picked up with the Power Glove or Power Bracelet and Bombs. There is not much practical use for the ring other than throwing objects at enemies from long distances to keep safe.

[edit] Heart Ring L-1

Heart Ring L-1
File:HeartRingL1.gif
Slowly recover lost Hearts

The Heart Ring L-1 will always be given to Link by the fairy behind the waterfall where Link first obtains the Rod of Seasons. She will only appear after the game has been completed, and will only give Link the ring after he obtains the Fairy Secret from the Great Fairy in a Linked Oracle of Ages game.

The Heart Ring L-1 allows Link to slowly recover hearts as he travels; however, it is only effective while he is moving. Due to its slow recovery rate, the ring is not useful for Boss or Mini-Boss fights and areas with multiple strong monsters.

It is impossible to obtain this ring in either game without a Linked game.

[edit] Heart Ring L-2

Heart Ring L-2
File:HeartRing L2.gif
Recover lost Hearts

The Heart Ring L-2 can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons by obtaining a seed ring from a Gasha Seed Tree, bumping into Maple, or a mini-game.

This Ring allows Link to recover hearts twice as fast as the L-1 Heart Ring. The Heart Ring L-2 only takes effect while Link is moving. While the recovery rate is faster, it is still not fast enough to be effective during Boss fights; however it can be useful during some Mini-Boss fights and when fighting large amounts of enemies.

[edit] Swimmer's Ring

Swimmer's Ring
File:SwimmersRing.gif
Swimming Speed +1

The Swimmer's Ring can only be obtained from the Master Diver in Sunken City in Oracle of Seasons, but only after the game has been completed. The Diver's Secret must be obtained from the diver in the cave above the Zora Seas in a Linked Oracle of Ages game. The secret is then given to the diver in Sunken City, who gives Link the Ring after completing a short diving mini-game.

The Swimmer's Ring allows Link to swim faster. It has very limited use in Oracle of Seasons, simply because there is little water to swim in. It has much more use in Oracle of Ages where there is an entire sea to swim in, as well the Mermaid's Cave, which is filled with water.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Charge Ring

Charge Ring
File:ChargeRing.gif
Spin Attack charges quickly

The Charge Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, most effectively by means of a Gasha Nut.

The Charge Ring allows Link to Charge his spin attack four times quicker than normal. This Ring is extremely valuable when fighting Onox and Ganon, as they can only be damaged by spin attacks.

[edit] Light Ring L-1

Light Ring L-1
File:LightRingL1.gif
Sword beams at -2 Hearts

The Light Ring L-1 can only be obtained in a cave in the Nuun Highlands in Oracle of Ages. The cave can be found in the southern part of the area, one screen north of Bipin and Blossom's house. It will either be a cave if Link has Moosh or Ricky as a partner, or up a waterfall if Link has Dimitri as a partner.

Normally, if Link has the Noble Sword or the Master Sword, he will fire beams out if it if he is missing no Hearts. While wearing the Light Ring L-1, he will be able to fire beams out of his sword if he is missing up to two Hearts.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Light Ring L-2

Light Ring L-2
File:LightRingt L2.gif
Sword beams at -3 Hearts

The Light Ring L-2, like the Light Ring L-1, can only be found in Oracle of Ages. It is a uncommon reward from the Lynna Village Shooting Gallery mini-game for scoring 350 points or more.

The Light Ring L-2 is very similar to the Light Ring L-1, except that it allows Link to fire beams from the Noble Sword or Master Sword when he is missing up to 3 Hearts.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Bomber's Ring

Bomber's Ring
File:BombersRing.gif
Set two Bombs at once

The Bomber's Ring can only be obtained through the Goron Dance mini-game in the Present in Oracle of Ages. By perfectly completing all eight rounds on Platinum, Link will receive a ring. It should be noted that it will not always be the Bomber's Ring; it could also be the Protection Ring or the Green Holy Ring. This ring is considered one of the most frustrating rings to get.

The Bomber's Ring allows Link to place two Bombs at once. It is useful against Bosses and Mini-Bosses who can be damaged by Bombs.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Green Luck Ring

Green Luck Ring
File:GreenLuckRing.gif
1/2 damage from traps

In Oracle of Seasons, The Green Luck Ring can be obtained by stealthily following the two Subrosians who steal Link's Roc's Feather. After following them for the first time to retrieve the Roc's Feather, they will continue to bury items underneath the soil at the end of the "mini-game". If Link successfully follows them without getting caught, he can dig up whatever they buried. One possible treasure is a Seed Ring, which might become the Green Luck Ring after appraisal.

In Oracle of Ages, The Green Luck Ring can always be found in the the chest located in the eastern room of Mayor Plen's house.

The Green Luck Ring reduces the damage Link takes from traps by half. It is useful in dungeons that are filled with traps.

[edit] Blue Luck Ring

Blue Luck Ring
File:BlueLuckRing.gif
1/2 damage from beams

The Blue Luck Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Blue Luck Ring reduces the amount of damage Link takes from beams. As there are few enemies that attack this way, it is not considered to be a very useful ring; however, it is useful against Beamos.

[edit] Gold Luck Ring

Gold Luck Ring
File:GoldLuckRing.gif
1/2 damage from falls

The Gold Luck Ring can only be found in the north-easternmost room of Ambi's Palace in the Past in Oracle of Ages. It is advised to wait until the guards of the Palace no longer catch Link and throw him out before going to get this ring.

The Gold Luck Ring cuts in half the damage Link takes from falls. This is useful for places with numerous holes in the ground, such as areas requiring Moosh to pass.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Red Luck Ring

Red Luck Ring
File:RedLuckRing.gif
1/2 damage from spiked floors

The Red Luck Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Red Luck Ring cuts in half the damage Link takes from spiked floors. It is useful in dungeons with spiked floors, especially if they appear in conjunction with ice.

[edit] Green Holy Ring

Green Holy Ring
File:GreenHolyRing.gif
No damage from electricity

The Green Holy Ring can always be obtained from the Goron Dance Hall mini-game in Oracle of Ages. By perfectly completing either gold or platinum in the Present, Link will be presented with a Seed Ring, which could be appraised as the Green Holy Ring, the Protection Ring, or the Bomber's Ring. The Green Holy Ring can also be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Green Holy Ring eliminates any damage Link takes from electricity. This is useful when fighting Buzzblobs, Biris, or even Veran.

[edit] Blue Holy Ring

Blue Holy Ring
File:BlueHolyRing.gif
No damage from Zora's fire

The Blue Holy Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Blue Holy Ring eliminates any damage Link takes from Zora's Fire (the fireballs that Zora spit at Link). Due to Zora's Fire being easily avoidable or blockable, this ring is not considered useful at all.

[edit] Red Holy Ring

Red Holy Ring
File:RedHolyRing.gif
No damage from small rocks

In Oracle of Ages, the Red Holy Ring can be obtained from a chest in the far west Zora Seas in the Present. It will be blocked by a wall, so Link must surface and dive again after traveling over a small section of land. In Oracle of Seasons, the Red Holy Ring can be obtained as a random reward from the Subrosian Dance Hall mini-game. The ring can also be obtained randomly in both games.

The Red Holy Ring eliminates damage done by small rocks, like those of an Octorok attack. Since most small rock attacks are easily avoided or blocked (like Zora's Fire of the Blue Holy Ring effect), the ring is not considered to be of much use.

[edit] Snowshoe Ring

Snowshoe Ring
File:SnowshoeRing.gif
No sliding on ice

The Snowshoe Ring can only be obtained in Oracle of Ages after the game has been complete. Link must first obtain the Mamamu Secret from Mamamu Yan's mother in Spool Swamp in a linked Oracle of Seasons game. If the secret is told to Mamamu Yan in Lynna City, she will reward Link with the unappraised Snowshoe Ring after finding her dog.

The Snowshoe Ring prevents Link from sliding on ice. It is useful when walking on ice in the winter in Oracle of Seasons, in the Sword & Shield Maze, and when facing Twinrova.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Roc's Ring

Roc's Ring
File:RocsRing.gif
Cracked floors don't crumble

The Roc's Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. It prevents cracked floors from crumbling under Link's weight. It is useful in caves and dungeons that contain numerous cracked floors.

[edit] Quicksand Ring

Quicksand Ring
File:QuicksandRing.gif
No sinking in quicksand

The Quicksand Ring is a possible reward for winning the Big Bang mini-game in Rolling Ridge in Oracle of Ages. The Quicksand Ring can also be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The ring allows Link to walk on quicksand as though it were normal ground. It also allows him to swim through the currents around whirlpools in the Sea in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Red Joy Ring

Red Joy Ring
File:RedJoyRing.gif
Beasts drop double Rupees

The Red Joy Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. The Red Joy Ring doubles the value of any rupees Link finds. It is very useful for finding lots of rupees in a short amount of time.

[edit] Blue Joy Ring

Blue Joy Ring
File:BlueJoyRing.gif
Beasts drop double Hearts

The Blue Joy Ring can only be found in a linked Oracle of Ages game. After the Moonlit Grotto, a special side-quest will commence, in which Link must rescue Princess Zelda from Vire. After saving her, she will give Link the Blue Joy Ring.

The Blue Joy Ring doubles every Heart Link finds. It is useful in dungeons and areas with a lot of enemies.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Gold Joy Ring

Gold Joy Ring
File:GoldJoyRing.gif
Find double items

The Yellow Joy Ring can only be found in Rolling Ridge in the Present in Oracle of Ages. Upon entering Rolling Ridge at the base of the mountain, follow the cave to the eastern room. There should be two staircases, one to the south and one to the north on a small elevated platform. Take the staircase to the south. To the north should be a Goron pacing back and forth. Bomb the eastern wall and a cave should appear. Inside will be a chest with the Yellow Joy Ring.

The Yellow Joy Ring is considered to be one of the most useful Rings in the game, because it causes any disposable item Link picks up to be doubled.

[edit] Green Joy Ring

Green Joy Ring
File:GreenJoyRing.gif
Find double Ore Chunks

The Green Joy Ring can only be obtained from Goron Mountain in Oracle of Seasons.

The Green Joy Ring doubles any Ore Chunks Link finds in Subrosia. It is especially useful for finding lots of Ore Chunks in a short amount of time. In Oracle of Ages, this ring is completely useless, as there are no Ore Chunks anywhere in the game. The only purpose for having the ring in Oracle of Ages is for collection.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Discovery Ring

Discovery Ring
File:DiscoveryRing.gif
Sense soft earth nearby

In Oracle of Ages, the Discovery Ring can be found in the Spirit's Grave in the chest two rooms west and one room north of the entrance. In Oracle of Seasons, the Discovery ring can be found in the Gnarled Root Dungeon.

The Discovery Ring gives off a sound when Link is in a screen with one of 16 hidden Soft Soil patches. After all 16 have been discovered, the ring becomes useless.

[edit] Rang Ring L-2

Rang Ring L-2
File:RangRingL2.gif
Boomerang damage +2

The Rang Ring L-2 can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons from a Gasha Nut.

The Rang Ring L-2 increases Link's Boomerang damage by 2. It is especially useful against Manhandla the Boss of the Ancient Ruins in Oracle of Seasons. Due to the fact that many monsters do not take damage from the Boomerang, it is not considered to be a very useful ring.

[edit] Octo Ring

Octo Ring
File:OctoRing.gif
Become an Octorok

The Octo Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Octo Ring transforms Link into the physical appearance of an Octorok when it is worn. Although the ring serves no practical purposes and renders Link unable to use any items while wearing it, it does provide immunity to Like Likes.

[edit] Moblin Ring

Moblin Ring

The Moblin Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Moblin Ring transforms Link into the physical appearance of a Moblin when it is worn. Although the ring serves no practical purposes and renders Link unable to use any items while wearing it, it does provide immunity to Like Likes.

[edit] Like Like Ring

In Oracle of Ages, The Like Like Ring can be obtained in Jabu-Jabu's Belly, the seventh dungeon of the game. The Chest is located one room east and four rooms north of the entrance. It can only be reached with the Long Hook. The Like Like Ring can also be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Like Like Ring transforms Link into the physical appearance of a Like Like when it is worn. Although the ring serves no practical purposes and renders Link unable to use any items while wearing it, it provides immunity to Like Likes.

[edit] Subrosian Ring

The Subrosian Ring can only be found in Oracle of Seasons. The chest containing the ring is located in Talon's Cave on Goron Mountain, but can only be accessed after waking Talon.

The Subrosian Ring transforms Link into the physical appearance of a Subrosian when it is worn. Although the ring serves no practical purposes and renders Link unable to use any items while wearing it, it grants immunity to Like Likes.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] First Gen Ring

First Gen Ring
File:FirstGenRing.gif
Become something?

The First Gen (generation) Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons by means of a Gasha Nut.

The First Gen Ring transforms Link into the appearance of Link from The Legend of Zelda when it is worn. Although the ring serves no practical purposes and renders Link unable to use any items while wearing it, it grants immunity to Like Likes.

[edit] Spin Ring

Spin Ring
File:SpinRing.gif
Double Spin Attack

The Spin Ring can only be obtained in Oracle of Ages after obtaining the Plen Secret from a linked Oracle of Seasons game. After obtaining the secret from the Subrosian in Lava Lake, Link must tell the secret to Mayor Plen, who gives Link the Spin Ring.

The Spin Ring allows Link to do two spin attacks in a row after charging up his sword. This is very useful against Ganon and General Onox.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Seasons, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Seasons.

[edit] Bombproof Ring

Bombproof Ring
File:BombproofRing.gif
No damage from your own Bombs

The Bombproof Ring is a possible reward if Link perfectly completes the Gold level of the Goron Dance Hall mini-game in the present in Oracle of Ages.

The Bombproof Ring can also be found randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons from a Gasha Nut.

The Bombproof Ring prevents Link from taking damage from his own Bombs. It is useful when facing Bosses or mini-bosses that can be damaged by bombs if Link does not want to be injured from his own Bombs.

[edit] Energy Ring

Energy Ring
File:EnergyRing.gif
Beam replaces Spin Attack

The Energy Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons from a Gasha Nut.

The Energy Ring causes Link's Spin Attack to be replaced by a sword beam after charging up his sword. Considering that the Spin Attack does more damage than a sword beam, this ring is not considered to be very useful and is only advised for fighting enemies from a distance when Link's health is less than full.

[edit] Dbl. Edged Ring

Dbl. Edged Ring
File:DblEdgeRing.gif
Sword damage ^ but you get hurt

The Dbl. (double) Edged Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons from a Gasha Nut.

The Dbl. Edged Ring increases Link's sword power by 3, but comes at a costly price of one Heart per swing. This Ring has very little efficient uses except for making the game more challenging.

[edit] GBA Nature Ring

GBA Nature Ring

Life Advanced!

The GBA (Game Boy Advance) Nature Ring can only be obtained in Oracle of Seasons. Playing the game on a Game Boy Advance opens a new store in the far northwest corner of Horon Village, next to the Know-It-All Birds' Hut. Inside will be a few items Link can buy, including the unappraised GBA Nature Ring.

The GBA Nature Ring is merely a recognition for playing Oracle of Seasons on the Game Boy Advance and gives no effects when worn.

Unless a Linked Game is created on Oracle of Ages, and the ring is transferred to it using the Ring Secret, it is impossible to obtain this ring in Oracle of Ages.

[edit] Slayer's Ring

1000 beasts slain

The Slayer's Ring can be obtained from Vasu in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons after defeating 1,000 enemies. The quickest way to obtain this ring is to kill enemies in a place with large amounts of them, such as the area in the Lost Woods in Oracle of Seasons where Like Likes fall from the sky. It is advised to go through the entire game first, as Link will kill many enemies on his quest. If he has not obtained the Ring by the end of game, the above tactic can be used.

The Slayer's Ring is merely a recognition for defeating 1,000 enemies or more, and gives no effects when worn.

[edit] Rupee Ring

10,000 Rupees collected

The Rupee Ring can be obtained from Vasu in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons after collecting over 10,000 Rupees. The quickest way to obtain this ring is to simply go on a rupee-hunting spree, digging up soil, killing enemies, or clearing sections of grass while wearing the Red or Gold Joy Ring. It is advised to go through the entire game first, as Link will collect a large amount of Rupees on his quest. If he has not obtained the Ring by the end of game, the above tactic can be used. It should also be noted that if Link obtains the maximum amount of rupees (999), additional rupees still count toward the 10,000 total.

The Rupee Ring is merely a recognition for finding 10,000 Rupees or more, and gives no effects when worn.

[edit] Victory Ring

The Victory Ring can only be obtained after finishing the complete storyline of a Linked Game. After defeating Ganon, Link will be given the Hero's Secret which can be used on either game. Link begins the Return-Linked game with the Victory Ring.

The Victory Ring is merely a recognition for completely playing through both games and defeating Ganon, and gives no effects when worn.

[edit] Sign Ring

100 signs broken

The Sign Ring can only be obtained from the Sign-loving Subrosian who lives south of the sunken Temple of Seasons. After destroying 100 signs, the Subrosian will get angry and flash a picture of startup screen of the Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Color, possibly implying the saved game has been erased. After the game resumes and he gives Link the Sign Ring.

The Sign Ring is merely a recognition for destroying 100 or more signs, and gives no effects when worn.

[edit] 100th Ring

The 100th Ring is obtained from Vasu after Link has had 100 Rings appraised (repeats count toward the total). The quickest way to obtain this ring is to collect rings from Maple or from mini-games. It is advised to go through the entire game first, as Link will collect a large amount of Seed Rings on his quest. If he has not obtained the Ring by the end of game, the above tactic can be used.

[edit] Whisp Ring

No effect from jinxes

The Whisp Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Whisp Ring negates the jinxing effects of Whisps, which normally prevent Link from using his sword and many other weapons. Due to the scarcity of Whisps, the Whisp Ring is not considered a very useful Ring.

[edit] Gasha Ring

Grow great Gasha Trees

The Gasha Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Gasha Ring causes Gasha Seed Trees to yield better items when worn. It is very useful when trying to obtain Rings and even the elusive Piece of Heart from a Gasha Nut. It is advised to equip this Ring whenever Link picks a Gasha Nut.

[edit] Peace Ring

No explosion if holding Bomb

The Peace Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Peace Ring prevents Bombs from going off while Link holds them, allowing him to hold Bombs indefinitely until he needs to use one. This Ring is useful for boss fights such as Dodongo.

[edit] Zora Ring

Dive without breathing

The Zora Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Zora Ring allows Link to dive underwater without breathing, thus allowing him to stay there indefinitely. It is useful for avoiding River Zora and other water enemies.

[edit] Fist Ring

Punch when not equipped

The Fist Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

The Fist Ring is very similar to the Expert's Ring in that it allows him to punch when unequipped; however, unlike the Expert's Ring, only "A" or "B" has to be unequipped. This Ring serves no practical use other than to make the game more challenging.

[edit] Whimsical Ring

Sword damage -1
Sometimes deadly

The Whimsical Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons by obtaining a seed ring from a Gasha Seed Tree, bumping into Maple, Fortune Linking, or a mini-game.

The Whimsical Ring is essentially a game of chance. Normally while wearing this ring, Link's sword will be reduced to the power of the Wooden Sword. Occasionally, however, it will grant a huge increase in power, allowing Link to kill any enemy in one swing. The chances of a deadly hit are 1 in 256. Due to the low chances of a positive effect, the Whimsical Ring is not advised for Boss or Mini-Boss fights and should only be used when fighting normal enemies for fun.

[edit] Protection Ring

Damage taken is always one Heart

The Protection Ring can be obtained randomly in both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons.

While the Protection Ring is equipped, any damage Link takes will always be 1 Heart. Although this is extremely useful against Bosses and Mini-Bosses, weaker enemies that deal less than one Heart worth of damage will still take away one heart.
