The Mabe Village Shop, also known as the Town Tool Shop, is a shop from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It is located in Mabe Village, near the eastern exit to Ukuku Prairie. The Mabe Village Shopkeeper is a bald man with squinty eyes who is always rubbing his hands, as if to signify incoming profit. It is the only store on Koholint Island.
It is possible for Link to steal items from the Mabe Village Shop if he picks up the item of interest and encircles the Shopkeeper a couple of times, before dashing towards the exit. As a result, the proprietor will exact his recompense by cruelly killing Link with magical energy upon his return to the store after saying, "I wasn't kidding when I said pay! Now, you'll pay the ultimate price!!". In addition, Link's name will be changed to "THIEF" for the duration of the game.
