[edit] Biography

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Lulu is a female Zora who is the lead singer of the popular all-Zora band, the Indigo-Gos. At some time prior to the events of the game, she had given birth to seven Zora Eggs, which mysteriously caused her to lose her voice.

On the advice of Evan, the band leader, Lulu resolved to take the eggs to the Marine Biologist. However, before she could go, the Gerudo Pirates stole her eggs from her after being informed, falsely, by the Skull Kid that the eggs would lead to a great treasure. Because of this, Link infiltrates the Pirates' Fortress and retrieved four of the seven total eggs. To keep them safe and healthy, Link leaves them in the care of the Marine Biologist, who had long ago set aside a special tank for Zora Eggs in his Marine Research Laboratory.

After saving four of the seven eggs, Link travels to Pinnacle Rock, where the final three are being guarded by Sea Snakes. After defeating the Sea Snakes, Link retrieves the Zora Eggs and brings them back to the Marine Research Laboratory. Once here, they all simultaneously hatch and align themselves on the walls of the tank, bearing the resemblance of notes on a staff, thus teaching Link the "New Wave Bossa Nova."

Link plays the "New Wave Bossa Nova" to Lulu at Zora Cape, restoring her voice and awakening the Giant Turtle from his slumber. Link then uses the Hookshot to grapple onto the Giant Turtle's back and travels to the Great Bay Temple.

After defeating Gyorg in the Great Bay Temple, Link can return to Zora Hall to find the Indigo-Gos' rehearsal finally underway thanks to Lulu's restored voice. Because of this, Link can don the Zora Mask and participate in the Indigo-Gos' rehearsal for the upcoming Carnival of Time.

Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.

[edit] Lulu the elder

"The one you heard singing must have been the original Lulu, mother of the current lead singer who's also named Lulu."
Toto

Lulu is stated to have a mother who was the lead singer of the Indigo-Go's in their prior generation; she fittingly is also named Lulu. Also, Gorman reveals that it was her hit, the "Ballad of the Wind Fish", that inspired him to join show business.

[edit] Theory

Theory warning: This section contains theoretical information based on the viewpoints or research of one or several other users. It has not been officially verified by Nintendo and its factual accuracy is disputed.

It is hinted that Mikau was romantically involved with Lulu, and could perhaps be the father of her children. This theory is supported by the fact that Lulu initially kept the fact that Gerudo Pirates stole her eggs a secret from Mikau and the rest of the band members. Also, it is discovered that Mikau is determined to get the stolen eggs retrieved, even to the point of death.

Theory warning: Theories end here.
