Level 8, also known as "The Lion", is the eighth dungeon in The Legend of Zelda. The entrance is found at the Dead End in the eastern woods and can be accessed only by burning a tree with the Blue Candle or the Red Candle. Its layout is roughly in the shape of a lion's head. Level 8 is unique among the first eight dungeons in that it contains not one but two major items. It is the location of both the Book of Magic, which enables Link to cast a fire spell, and the Magical Key, which allows him to unlock any door in any dungeon in Hyrule.
