The Twilit Carrier Kargarok appears when Link first travels to Lake Hylia in Twilight Princess. It is a gigantic Shadow Kargarok.

Appearance and Strategy
When Wolf Link and Midna first arrive in the nearly empty lake, smothered in Twilight, he witnesses a worried Fyer peering at a Twilit Bulblin Archer. He first believes to be a customer, before realizing it is a monster. When Link attempts to confront the Bulblin, it uses patch of Hawk Grass to summon the Twilit Carrier Kargarok, which it then mounts.

Assaulting Link with fiery arrows from his new ride, Link can only defeat the Twilit Bulblin Archer by first taking care of the giant Shadow Kargarok. To attack, Link must wait until the bird gets close to the ground and then jump on it. Upon doing so, he then proceeds to rapidly bite at the bird. As the pattern is repeated the necessary times, the young hero must also take care to dodge the Fire Arrows from the Bulblin until next time the bird tries to attack him with a closer attack. When the Bulbin falls on the ground, Link battles it with physical attacks. If he does not defeat the archer fast enough, it will return to it's mount.

Once the rider is defeated, Midna will take control of the bird so that she and Link can fly to Zora's Domain. Link must make use of the Twilit Carrier Kargarok at any time that he wishes to travel upriver. Once the Twilight is removed from the land, the bird will not appear again, but a giant Kargarok, possibly it's Light World form, appears in it's place.

Trivia
*This battle is somewhat similar to the fight with the Evil Eagle rider from Link's Awakening. In that battle, a masked foe known as the Grim Creeper rides the giant bird to attack Link.
