Joel is a recurring character in the Legend of Zelda series.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Edit

Joel is a young child living on Outset Island with his family. He is the older brother of Zill and the son of Abe and Rose. His figurine in the Nintendo Gallery states that both he and Zill bear a striking resemblance to their father. Zill looks up to Joel and likes to imitate him.

Joel is always carrying around a short stick, and is a curious child who is fond of adventure. Because of this, he wishes to grow up as fast as he can and be as big and strong as Link so he can leap across boulders on Outset Island, like Link can. He tells Link of the Rupees that lay atop the boulders located next to the bridge on Outset Island in order to watch Link leap across them.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Edit

Joel attends Funday School in Hyrule Town where he will offer to fuse Kinstones with Link. Zill also attends Funday School, but it is never stated that the two are brothers in the game.
