[edit] Biography

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Japas' long "hair" gives him the appearance of a typical rock star. He is a laid back, relaxed fellow who is always up for a jam; Link has a Jam Session with him while in Zora form. He also tries to help Mikau in whatever ways he can, not knowing he has died and Link is taking his place. He plays with the rest of The Indigo-Gos at the Carnival of Time during the end credits.

It is revealed in Mikau's diary that he created a new melody with Japas and, if Link discovers this diary, he is able to learn the notes Mikau played. Link can then have a Jam Session with Japas, and if he plays this new tune to the band leader, Evan, he will earn himself a Piece of Heart.

Interestingly, The notes Japas plays on his bass guitar in his bedroom form the Underworld music from The Legend of Zelda.
