- "You ate the Jabber Nut! Now you can understand the language of the Minish."
- — In-game description
The Jabber Nut is an item from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. It is found in the Barrel House on the east side of the Minish Village. The Jabber Nut allows whoever eats it to understand the language of the Minish.
Although it is not explicitly mentioned, it is possible that alongside allowing him to understand the Minish language, the Jabber Nut also provided him with the ability to understand the language of animals while Minish-sized, as he can do so in-game.
Upon finding that they cannot understand the Minish language, Link and Ezlo are advised by Festari, a Minish Elder who understands their language, to seek out the Jabber Nut; upon successfully doing so, Link consumes the Jabber Nut, allowing him to understand Minish speech.
In the manga, instead of instructing Link to enter the Barrel House to get the Jabber Nut, Festari led him there personally, and then gave him the nut.
The Jabber Nut is named after the word jabber, which is often used to describe incomprehensible speech.
