Template:Character Revali is a character in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Biography

100 years prior to the events of the game, Revali was the Champion of the Rito tribe. He was known as the most skilled archer of all the Rito (possibly all of Hyrule as well) due to his ability to fly create an impressive updraft that allowed him to soar (which was even considered impressive among the Rito) and could let arrows loose with the speed of a gale, which made him incredibly skilled in aerial battles. His weapon was the Great Eagle Bow.

Revali was present during the ritual of Zelda making Link her appointed knight. After Daruk commented on how depressing Zelda made her speech seem, Revali reminds Daruk that the ceremonial pomp and grandeur nonsense was his idea in the first place. He then states his disapproval of Link until Urbosa tells him to stop.

Later on, Link visits Rito Village where Revali confronts him. He openly admits that despite wanting to stop Ganon, he does not like the idea of assisting Link just because he wields the Master Sword and believes he has better abilities than the young hero. After gloating about how his abilities are superior and the asininity of merely assisting Link, Revali gets in Link's face and mockingly challenging him. Revali then mocks Link for not being able to fly and returns to the Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

Revali is seen with the rest of the champions meeting Link and Zelda after her time on Mount Lanayru. Minutes later there was a loud earthquake and Revali flew into the air to see that Calamity Ganon finally awoke. At Daruk's command, he and the rest of the champions went to their Divine Beasts. Preparing to strike Ganon, he was confronted with Windblight Ganon.[2] Despite his best efforts, he was defeated which Revali claims only happened because he was winging it. Like the rest of the Champions, his spirit was imprisoned within the corrupt Divine Beast for the next century.

As Link reclaims more terminals in Vah Medoh, however, he becomes steadily more incredulous at Link's ability. After Link's victory over Wind Blight Ganon, he gains a grudging respect for the hero. Upon being freed, he thanks and congratulates Link on succeeding where he has failed and acknowledges Link as a warrior worthy of Revali's Gale.

After Link leaves, Revali flies Vah Medoh and lands on top of a giant stone perch, setting Medoh's sights on Hyrule Castle.
