Ice Keese are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. They are identical in appearance to normal Keese, but are wreathed in blue flame that freeze Link upon contact. They are prevalently found in dungeons, generally in colder regions.

[edit] Appearances

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Keese dive into pillars of Blue Fire to light themselves with the blue fire. Thus, they only appear where there is Blue Fire present. The Ice Keese's attack causes Link to become encased in a block of ice and take damage until the ice thaws. Ice Keese retain their flames after Link has come in contact with them, unlike Fire Keese.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

"You know about the Ice Keese, right? Destroy it before it swoops down on you. I hate the c-c-cold!"
Tatl

Ice Keese are uncommon enemies that appear only in Snowhead and Beneath the Well. While visually identical to the Ice Keese from Ocarina of Time, these enemies' flames are extinguished once they have come in contact and frozen Link, or if they should hit his shield.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Unlike average Keese, Ice Keese freeze and damage Link if he comes into contact with one. Also unlike in Ocarina of Time, they cannot be reverted to normal Keese in any way.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Ice Keese are only found in the Temple of Ice, where they act like normal Keese, but freeze on contact.
