Hydromelons are items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are curative items that restore one half Heart Container. They are fruits that are resilient enough to flourish even in the heat of the desert. They contain a hydrating liquid that provides a cooling effect to food when used in cooking that increases heat resistance. Link can also roast them with fire or volcanic heat to create Roasted Hydromelons. They can also be used to makes "Chilly" food dishes and is one of the ingredients in Creamy Heart Soup.

These common fruits grow from vines on the ground in Gerudo Desert. As a result they are staple foods for the Gerudo that dwell in the desert along with Voltfruit that grows on cactuses in the desert. Link can also purchase Hydromelons for 16 Rupees from Emri in Kara Kara Bazaar or Lorn in Gerudo Town. Link can also find the Gerudo Calyban near one of Gerudo Town's aqueducts gorging on Hydromelons. Hydromelons can also be occasionally found by breaking wooden and metal crates.

Related side quest

Main article: The Mystery Polluter

During the Side Quest "The Mystery Polluter", Link discovers that Calyban has been carelessly dumping the remains of Hydromelons she has eaten into the aqueduct which ends up polluting the water young Dalia needs to grow her garden. Link tracks the pollution back to its source and finds Calyban gorging on Hydromelons. She agrees that she will stop polluting if Link brings her ten Wildberries. Once Link gives Calyban the ten wildberries she will stop polluting as she promised. Link must then return to Dalia who will ironically reward Link with a Hydromelon.
