The Harbor Town of Mido, also known simply as Mido, is a location from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. It is a harbor town located in a desert found in the western part of Hyrule; just northeast of the King's Tomb, and near the dock which serves as the gateway to the eastern part of Hyrule.

When Link arrives in Mido, he encounters a Hylian Knight who teaches him the Downward Thrust. He also helps a woman find the Water of Life; she repays him by taking him to an Old Man who teaches Link the Fairy Spell.

[edit] Etymology

The Harbor Town of Mido shares a name with Mido, a character from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Of the six Ocarina of Time characters to have towns named for them, Mido is the only one who was not one of the Seven Sages. This is strange in that, at least in the events of the game, Mido never achieved a level of fame for his actions, questioning why a town would share a name with him. Despite this, it is possible that he at one point became a legendary figure in Hyrule.
