The Zora Guitar,[1] also known as the Guitar of Waves,[2] is an item in Majora's Mask.

Location and Uses[]

The Zora Guitar is obtained alongside the Zora Mask after Link heals Mikau's soul. It replaces the Ocarina of Time when transformed into a Zora. Link must play it to learn the "New Wave Bossa Nova" from the Zora hatchlings. By playing the song on the Zora Guitar to Lulu in the Zora Cape, Link can awaken the Giant Turtle who will take him to the Great Bay Temple.

Trivia[]

  • The Zora Guitar is played by Link in the right-handed style, despite him being left-handed.
  • The Zora Guitar existed as an independent C-Button item in the original Majora's Mask. Its icon was coded into the game but was not implemented in the final release.[3] It can be seen in certain pre-release screenshots. The icon was later used in Majora's Mask 3D.
  • In January 2001, Nintendo Power held a contest where the grand prize winner would receive a copy of Majora's Mask and a special edition guitar based on the Zora Guitar, the Special Edition Fish Bone Guitar. It was a custom-made 7-string guitar by Jackson Guitars.
