Guardians can refer to two things in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It can refer to the Four Giants (aka as the Guardians or the Guardian Deities) or it can refer to the bosses (and mini-bosses) of the four temples.

Background

W-What exactly are all of you?

"Guardians." Guardians?

So...You're protective gods?

That's why you're in the temples... But...why are the protective gods...?

"Guardians." Guardians?

That's why you're in the temples... But...why are the protective gods...?"
