The Great Fairy's Tears are a bottled potion found in Twilight Princess and are, like the name presumes, to be the tears of a Great Fairy. Drinking them provides the consumer with a temporary increase in strength, in addition to full health.
The substance is rare, however, with only one bottle given to Link by Jovani after 20 pieces of his soul were reclaimed from the Poes who took it, though he mentions a place in the desert where one can earn them perpetually. This refers to the Cave of Ordeals, a 50-roomed pit filled with trials, where completion results in the ability to receive a bottle of the Tears anytime from Great Fairies who, now, have been released to the Spirit Springs of Hyrule's provinces.
Normally Link is limited to only one bottle of Great Fairy's Tears (the Great Fairy will not fill a second bottle, even if the first bottle is the only one that isn't empty) at a time. However, upon the first completion of the Cave of Ordeals, Link will be rewarded with a bottle of Tears even if he still has the bottle given to him by Jovani. Link will also receive an additional bottle of Tears each time he completes the Cave of Ordeals, regardless of how many bottles of tears he already has in his possession, but this gets progressively harder as Link's space for recovery items will be filled up by the tears until there is only one bottle left, in which case Magic Armor should also be put to use sparingly throughout the cave.
