- "With black roses etched into it, the Great Fairy's Sword is the most powerful of all blades."
- — In-game description
The Great Fairy's Sword is a sword from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It is a magical, two-handed sword emblazoned with black rose motifs and is given to Link by the Great Fairy of Kindness in Ikana Canyon as a reward for returning the Stray Fairies of Stone Tower Temple to her fountain, which restores her true form. Since it is a double-handed sword, it cannot be used in conjunction with a shield (though it may parry some attacks). To offset this disadvantage, the Great Fairy's Sword deals four times as much damage as the Kokiri Sword, making it a very formidable blade.
Unlike other swords found in the game, the Great Fairy's Sword is used as an equippable item, as opposed to being permanently equipped to the B button; this allows Link to use the sword even if jinxed by a Blue Bubble. Unlike other swords, there is only one conventional way to perform Spin Attacks; as power cannot be charged by pressing and holding the button to which it is equipped, the control stick must instead be rotated before pressing the corresponding button, resulting in a quick spin.
The Great Fairy's Sword appears as four Badges (Great Fairy Sword I, Great Fairy Sword II, Great Fairy Sword III, and Great Fairy Sword IV) that can be crafted at the Bazaar's Badge Market for Link, Lana, and Princess Zelda. Each badge adds a new combo attack for Link's Great Fairy, Lana's Summoning Gate, and Zelda's Dominion Rod movesets.
The Great Fairy's Sword is Link's Legendary Weapon; it can be bought from Cepheus for 9,800 Gold. It has a slightly higher reach than Link's default sword, and a higher attack. Whilst using it, Link regains health automatically over time. However, when the sword was brought from Termina, it lost the ability to completely defend Link, so he takes 10% of an attack's damage, even when guarding.
Link wields the sword with one hand instead of two, and holds a shield in his other hand. This may be due to the fact that Link is an adult in this game. However, in this game, Link uses all his weaponry with one hand to allow a shield, even Biggoron's Sword and the Megaton Hammer. It is more likely to retain similar gameplay across his weapons. The sword also comes with the Hylian Shield even though it is not obtainable in Majora's Mask.
