Golden Keys are quest items from The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. Link needs three of these keys in order to access Vaati's Palace a second time; however, he will only be able to obtain a golden key from a level after earning a Silver Key from the same level.

After defeating the boss of the Sea of Trees, Talus Cave, and Death Mountain, Link will meet a Great Fairy. If he has collected over 3,000 Rupees in the stage, the Great Fairy will award him with a Golden Key. If Link receives a Golden Key from a stage, the next time he travels through the stage, he will be able to obtain the Hero's Key if he obtains enough Rupees.
