[edit] Story
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Ganondorf has seized control of Hyrule, the power of light and darkness, and newfound twilight powers following Zant's death. He awaits Link's coming in his throne room at the highest tower of Hyrule Castle. He fights Link in three other forms, first possessing Princess Zelda, as the monstrous Ganon, and on horseback. After his horse is defeated and he is flung off, he encloses Link in a twilight arena and challenges him to a one on one duel.
Spoiler warning: Spoilers end here.
[edit] Battle
Ganondorf moves very slowly. Occasionally, Link can enter a chance sword lock which can leave Ganon very vulnerable if he succeeds. After hurting Ganondorf a number of times, he will fall to the floor, allowing Link to finish him with an Ending Blow. During the sword locks the A button must be pressed repeatedly to throw Ganondorf off balance. Also, on the Wii version shaking the Wii-mote and Nunchuck will make it easier to overpower him.
Another good tactic to defeat him is to use the Back Slice.
There is also a special way to defeat Ganondorf, by distracting him with the fishing rod. While staring at it, Link can freely hit him. This technique is comparable to the technique of the boss battle against Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time, where you can defeat him using a bottle.
